Ready At Dawn has named Paul Sams as its new CEO as it seeks to publish its own games.

The studio, best known this year for PS4 exclusive The Order: 1886, wants to create its own ‘transmedia IP’ and is on the hunt for investors.

Sams - the longtime COO of Blizzard - will lead the company’s new Austin office, which will focus on business development and publishing.

Ready At Dawn’s co-Founder and current CEO Ru Weerasuriya will now take on the role of president and chief creative officer.

“Words can’t describe how excited our team and I are to have Paul join the Ready At Dawn family,” said Weerasuriya in a press statement.

Does Mr. Sams' appointment or the creation of a publishing arm change the studio's close relationship with Sony? Do you have plans for more games on non-Sony platforms [Ready At Dawn did the Wii port of Okami – ed.]?

Sams: We have enjoyed a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Sony. They are a great company with whom we have shared many successes over the years. As a result, it is hard to imagine not seeing our future games on one or more of the Sony platforms. At the same time, we have worked very hard to make sure that our engine and technology suite is multiplatform. What we did on the PS4 for The Order: 1886, we can also do today on Xbox One, PC, and on an additional unannounced platform.

Shame about The Order, but I'm excited to see where RAD ends up.

He clearly says "What we did on PS4, we can do on Xbox 1" thus confirming the Power of the 1 :blessed:

Xbox wins again :win:

PSTHOTS didn't support it. The sales were lackluster.

Xbox owners also did not support Sunset Overdrive which looked like a very good and interesting game compared to other games released a the time. A far more fun looking game than the Order. Yet it sales were too lackluster. I'm just pointing that out.

Sunset had no hype espcially compared to The Order. The Order was hyped to be an AAA title
