It might be a matter of preference like most things in life. Personally I think the gunplay/combat overall was better in the most recent Tomb Raider than Uncharted. Uncharted had a weird way of the making the reticle move upwards as you shot it. Sure this is how guns in real life work, but for a game it made it feel a bit unnatural to me. Also uncharted had a dew enemies that were essentially HP sponges. In Tomb Raider you had a few of those as well but they gave Lara a versatile move set that when leveled up she was able to maneuver around enemies and take them apart like a ninja stabbing them in their legs with arrows and cracking them in the face with the pick axe.
Both games are REALLY good. I think the overall fan war is because people are dead set on these being console exclusives. If they were both multi-plat the conversation wouldn't be anywhere near as serious.
That was only in Uncharted 3. Uncharted two had bullet spread whereas part three changed to recoil based shooting. I thought three was a downgrade in that respect.

Bruh, you seem to have taken words out of context and played the role of a moron in doing so :stop:
You said BF4 is a fighting game because what? You seen a war movie where fighting took place?
How is that relevant to what we are discussing? It isn't

99% of games could be called fighting games? Only in your world. They don't make fighting games like that anymore. You couldn't name 9. What was the other game you said...Infamous :mjlol:
I'm certain you fly around with super powers to fight mostly. You can fight in it, but it isn't JUST A FIGHTING GAME like RYSE, Double Dragon/etc. Like I said, we didn't call them "beat em ups" back in those days.
I mean, maybe in mayberry? But not where I lived, and not in EGM which is like the bible of videogaming
River City Ransom was not a fighting game. It was an action adventure game, right :laff:

Breh I'm just following your lead. Nobody says we're going to the Middle East to shoot bad guys. They literally say fight terrorism. Super heroes don't zap bad guys they fight them. You're right court 110% of video games are fighting games according to the definitions of fighting and brawling. I'm having a t shirt made with "Courtdog was right" all over it. Courtadamus changing view points.

:camby:with that back in my day bullshyt.

1. EGM did not say streets of rage was a fighting game that's :duck:.

2. Nobodies cares about your "hood"

:mjlol: @mayberry stfu

:mjlol: That backtracking.. "You can fight in it but but"

I don't know why I was tagged in this but the way I see it is like this. Tomb Raider is the OG that laid the ground work for this sub genre of exploration/action/platforming game. The very first Tomb Raider for PS1 was ground breaking and set the standard for these types of games and for many years Lara Croft reigned supreme and rightfully so. However, the series became stagnant. Lets not forget that they tried to reboot Tomb Raider three times before this last game came out.

These games while fun in their own right, were not received at all with the level of praise that the original trilogy received. Along came Uncharted, which built on the platform Tomb Raider created and took it in the direction the series should have gone from the beginning. The story, the graphics, and the gameplay completely destroyed the previous Tomb Raiders. Overall, the game was simply better than Tomb Raider. Now with the most recent Tomb Raider the tables were turned. It was Lara's turn to now take notes from Nathan Drake and they created a series reboot worthy of the name Tomb Raider, with exceptional gun play (Something Uncharted was weak at), great graphics, and a story you could actually follow (even though the majority of the characters were corny).

Will uncharted 4 be better than the rise of the tomb raider now? I don't know. (And since I own all the systems I don't care). I will say that the competition is exciting and when there is competition it forces developers to think outside of the box to provide new experiences in their games.

The only thing I'm disappointed about is that I had my fingers crossed and have been blindly wishing for a series cross over game eventually where Drake and Lara run into each other and have to work together to complete a mission.

Lol this is why I tagged you.

Uncharted and Tomb Raider are both amazing games.

Personally though I felt like Uncharted 2 was potentially a top10-20 game of all time.

Better characters and interplay and dialogue and was the first game where I was like :wow: the whole game that generation.

I really enjoyed the new Tomb Raider too. Great graphics. Gunplay traversal and upgrade system. However something about it felt stale and artificial. The characters were stiff to me and not memorable. I can barely remember anyone besides Lara. I also don't remember very many specific moments of the game. Where with Uncharted 2 I remember everyone easily. The game felt natural and actually made me laugh.

I remember the crumbling building. The helicopter rooftop fight. The train ride :banderas: the yetis :wow:

The graphics at the time were :wow: too. Id barely seen anything like it on console.

Both great but Uncharted 2 is top 20 all time to me. Tomb Raider while great left less of an impact on me. MAYBE top 100-150 all time.

When I was finished Uncharted 2 I was on some 'best game ever' shyt. As time went on I realize it's not the best ever. But it's one of them.

I have a ton of EGM's in the closet right. I could be a bama and go thru all that, just to prove a point
Yup, I could do that and gain credibility in the scheme of thangs :francis: But you know what?
I could probably try to google it... Ok, and heeeeere we go.
Once upon a time not long ago, when gamers wore pajamaz and lived life slow.
The net didn't exist and EGM was what's good
They said "Streets of Rage's a fighting game" like they outta should
There lived a lil' boy who was misled,
Til a real McCoy showed up and this is what he said:
"Dollah Don Dollah been making some cash
And now its time for me to put my whole foot in yo ass",

EGM July 1997 issue said:
"This has always been a good series, and I really enjoyed the cart. A few things bothered me. The music wasn't up to par with what Yuzo Koshio normally does, and the sounds were sub-standard. The background animations are really good, and the diversity of game play adds tremendously. Sega change the character outfits to gender neutral colors? It is still a great Sega fighter." -Ed Semrad
He did the job, I dummy these lames with ease,

YESSS!! Streets of Rage 3 is a continuation of one of the best fighting adventures from Sega. With 24-Megs of memory, there are loads of lethal moves and an improved soundtrack. There are even more moves when you play with the six-button controller. Very cool with the Head-to-Head Battle Mode. (Courtdog Interuption.. What you would call a fighting game, they called head to head battle mode :mjlol:... carry on)The only bad part is the heinous slowdown in some areas of the game. Bummer! Still a great fight title, thought." -Al Manuel

Crysis 3 came out on last gen consoles though
I was gonna go with either :francis: :hula:  but decided to let that man cook

And here is where the comparisons are not fair. Tomb Raider 1 >>> Uncharted 1
I fully expect Tomb Raider 2 to be as good as Uncharted 2 and most likely better. Just because as we evolve, so do the games we play. TR1 didn't have the most memorable characters. Neither did Uncharted 1. You know Drake, You know Sully. You know the white bytch. Everyone else is only known because maybe they returned in the sequels. TR2 will be a beast. I don't think anyone is expecting it to be anything less than that. TBC where it ranks all time...
