You got people who been fans of teams that haven't won shyt in decades. Since before they were born. But they keep supporting them year after year. Spending money and keeping "hope" alive. No matter how bad the team is run, and no matter how bad the team plays, fans keep coming back expecting THIS year may be the year. Or THIS year, they will turn the corner. It's the same with politics. Supporters of both major parties, keep voting the same types of politicians into office and complain about the results every year. And like sports, if a rival team wins a championship or rivalry game, there is nothing but hate from the other rival. There's no common ground. No mutual respect. Just hate. Through sports people are programed to always be us vs them. In everything. Politics, race, income, everything. And it's only gotten worse in the age of social media.
