Parker, Westbrook, Curry, JT, Lillard, CP3 in the playoffs

PG that are breaking down the D and putting up shots when they are good at scoring and getting wide open.
Is more valuable than these guys passing up great shots to pass the ball to some lessor player open for three or some shyt.

Wall passed up so many shots at the rim to throw it back to the perimeter and it's A flaw basketball offense

Rondo is useless

those 4 are out the playoffs.

Wall does need to score more, but shut up.

I agreed. The point guards of this generation are more lethal and can get everyone in their teams involved while scoring 20 pts. per game, and they don't force a pass to get assist, which why I greatly respect their game. :ehh:

The purpose of the PG varies by system and by team

If your team requires it, then sometimes the PG will have to take charge and do the scoring himself.

Now of course...yes...there are teams where for some reason the PG takes it upon himself to become the main scorerer and as you can see, the results can also vary GREATLY.

In these playoffs alone we have seen nights where Durants shot was flat or he just wasn't getting those foul calls or just wasn't getting to the bakset and Young Sabo needed to take charge and take it upon himself to make the big shots or plays.

But again...it varies from team to team, from system to system and from matchup to matchup

The better question is, is your PG good enough to lay off and pass the rock when he DOES need to??? If you're a starting PG in this league you can definitely put up All-Star numbers at will, the way flopping has become part of the game but do you have the good sense to not do that and pass the ball and help facilitate in order to win?

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Scoring PG's are much better, while he can score I don't view Dribble Dribble as a scoring PG, he handles the ball entirely too much. You compare his touches per game vs Lillard, Curry, Parker and he's touching the ball 20-30 times more than them. He has the ball entirely too much, entirely too long and isn't as decisive as them on whether he's going to score or not, they simply react to the defense and go for buckets.

Being pass first doesn't mean you don't shoot it means you top priority is to get others involved. With the emergence of 2s and 3s that can handle the ball and distribute it's not the necessity that it once was.

Youve been getting at CP3 heavy lately, but I guess he keeps proving you right

I tend to agree with this thread, assists are a bit overrated

The rule changes have made a scoring PG more valuable than a traditional PG

Healthy Rose > CP3

These scoring PGs are so much better and I fully expect one to lead a team to a title in the next 10 years, won't be Dribble though.

I agree, especially with how difficult it is to check guys on the perimeter now

They put so much more pressure on the defense, while guys like Rondo, CP3 take away from the flow of an offense trying to be a floor general. Clippers looked better when they would move the ball around, and just run sets that allowed touches for multiple players.

The next 10 years? Don't set the bar too high there breh :skip:

Lets be honest... They aint gonna win a title through the grind of a deep playoff run because none of them can stay healthy...
