It honestly depends on the makeup of each team. But if i was building a team im always taking a score 1st pg before the setup guy

2 outta 4 then. Let's act as if Kidd didn't average 8 dimes a game the year Dallas won the title in 2011 :beli:
Not even that...In the past 50 years a team that had their PG lead them in FGA has won the NBA title 4 times...I recognize the game has evolved, but expecting a dude thats 6'2" 190 to carry your team to 16 wins every spring only happens in college..Westbrook, Curry, Rose, Kyrie, Paul, Wall, Rondo, Rubio have all spent too much time on the IR the past 2 years to depend for a title run...Most of these PG's are as dependable as run first QB's in the NFL from a health perspective...

There's a reason that Chalmers vs George Hill has been the ECF PG matchup the past two seasons, while the dudes with all the commercials and all star patches are sitting home watching with us...The other pieces around the PG are almost always more valuable...

Healthy Rose > CP3

These scoring PGs are so much better and I fully expect one to lead a team to a title in the next 10 years, won't be Dribble though.

Attacking > Surveying the floor

CP3 was looking to score first in they playoffs

They just got sabotaged by Crawford

3 out of the last 4 teams to win championships have had pass first PG's as starters

Rondo
Fisher
Kidd
Chalmers

Kidd doesn't count dude was not breaking down the D and he shared time with Terry and JJ

Parker, Westbrook, Curry, JT, Lillard, CP3 in the playoffs

PG that are breaking down the D and putting up shots when they are good at scoring and getting wide open.
Is more valuable than these guys passing up great shots to pass the ball to some lessor player open for three or some shyt.

Wall passed up so many shots at the rim to throw it back to the perimeter and it's A flaw basketball offense

Rondo is useless

:dwillhuh: Rondo has more rings than all of those guys except for TP, so he's not useless at all. Do you really wanna use Playoff success to defend CP3?

You're original post didn't mention anything about pass first PG's breaking down the D

Kidd wasn't what he once was in 2011 but he was still an effective pass first PG. He wasn't USELESS (and i'm assuming you were just reaching with words calling them useless :manny: )

It's always someone elses fault but Chris.

He touched the ball over 100 times a game in the playoffs, only Kemba walker saw the ball more than him. He's entirely too involved in the offense, he averaged 20ppg and 10.4apg for the playoffs, just think of how much you have to have the ball in your hands to do that.

They probably would have been better off with him being around 26ppg and 7apg.

I always get in arguments with my boys over this.

Then it always turns into a Kyrie vs. Wall argument.

Im taking a scoring PG over a pass first PG anyday. Thats just me though. I cant have a PG where hes at the top of the key and the defender is at the FT line defending him.

Scoring PG's are much better, while he can score I don't view Dribble Dribble as a scoring PG, he handles the ball entirely too much. You compare his touches per game vs Lillard, Curry, Parker and he's touching the ball 20-30 times more than them. He has the ball entirely too much, entirely too long and isn't as decisive as them on whether he's going to score or not, they simply react to the defense and go for buckets.

So explain why every time chris paul left the game the clippers leads dwindled, the offense became stagnant and their turnovers increased

Scoring pg's are good in spurts not all the time because they become hogs who look to score more than pass

Because they became dependent on him, all of their sets built around this dude to control the ball incessantly, more offensive freedom from him during the year and things may have turned out different :yeshrug:

Too much emphasis put on making teammates better. How can I make them better if they already sorry? You can't make Perkins better. You can't make Thabo better. So if my PG had to put up 30 to insure a win then fine by me.

 not wit doc as coach & they played 18-20 games without paul and had no problem scoring.

dikkride "pg's" who shoot 12-32,9-29,8-27 and hate on pg's who put up 22 and 12 apg and had 36 assists and 1 turnover in a 3 game streak whose teams collapses offensively every time he's out the game
