Are you really denying that the Patriots are one of the most hated, if not the most hated team in the league?

shyt isn't even arguable. Yeah there are legions of people that praise the Patriots but there's just as many that hate them with a passion.

Where do you think "the patriot way" came from? Not damn fans. It's the controllers and voices of the game.
Do everyday people hate them? Yes. But does anything negative EVER get said about them during a telecast or pregame show? It's always "their a great franchise, they do things the right way, belicheck and Kraft know how to run a franchise the way it should be run. Couldn't ask for a better franchise "

but that's all true. Maximizing what they can get from each player is what every team strives for in the league. This example is just that.

For salary cap considerations, the signing bonus amount is divided by the number of years of the contract and prorated equally for each year.
So, if a player signed a 5 year contract with a signing bonus of $10 million, $2 million of the bonus is applied to the salary cap for each year, even though he got the money in year 1.

If the player is cut before the contract expires, the remaining years of the signing bonus hit the salary cap for the upcoming season. So, if the player with the 5 year contract and $10 million signing bonus was cut after 3 years, the remaining $4 million of the bonus would be counted against the salary cap the next season.

Then again my question is HOW MANY GAMES DID HE PLAY!?!? and Johnathan Fanene was NOT that enticing to be given a $3.8 Million signing bonus just for his signature to play for the Patriots. I don't really expect you to understand all this because I can see the hidden agenda of you coli nikkaz but its funny you taking a NFLPA grievance and state it as facts.
how many games he played is irrelevant. i'm not even sure what your point is now.

i don't know what you mean by "you coli nikkaz" either because i've been here a week. but keep running to weak fallacies like that when people point out that you made a dumb comment.

The signing Bonus is Prorated equally for future seasons even if it was given at the time of the signing, meaning if he played no games he is NOT entitled to the full signing bonus that's all, Obviously he didn't fulfill his obligations to be entitled to the full signing bonus because he was hurt to the point of not being able to get on the field ever again.

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
If this is true, and the Pats are the only team that does this, then that super strong union should be able to come through and strong arm them into doing the right thing.......right? :mjlol::lolbron:

Call yourselves a union and not do shyt for your players, ever, brehs

Big business will always squash paper unions

what the hell are you talking about?

you get the signing bonus for signing the contract...thats it. he signed the contract, thats his money. he showed up to work but was too injured to play. he still gets paid. if the pats decide to cut him, he still gets paid his signing bonus. he just doesnt get paid his regular salary. how they manipulate the signing bonus over the length of the contract is completely irrelevant.

the only question here is if whether or not the contract was valid. if he had a pre existing injury that was not disclosed before signing the contract, then thats grounds to terminate the contract.
