you gotta check out some of the hidden functionality, like touch menus, gyro, mode shifting, etc

edit: also you need to be using the Steam beta client, and Big Picture Mode to get all the latest stuff

So, it turns out my ssd was just misaligned. :francis: Realigned it, and, boom, back to normal speeds. I guess that's why they warn you about cloning drives instead of clean installs. MiniTool Partition fixed my problem quickly though :whew:

500gb of optimal ssd speeds :blessed:

- im not going to get too much into VPNs but i will say that ive never used a free one that was worthwhile. a good vpn will cost money.

- as far as torrent clients, ive always liked deluge. its lightweight, 100% ad-free and (i believe) completely open source.

- the greatest protection against any and everything is yourbrain.exe:smugdraper:be diligent. dont click on fishy links and be wary who can access your information. outside of that, malwarebytes is extremely good and just about the only anti-virus i recommend to anyone who asks.

- steam is by far and away the most popular distribution platform on pc but there are websites that sell games cheaper (sometimes significantly). gamers-outlet.net, cdkeys.com and g2a.com are a few. check em out when you can. just be aware that you cannot get refunds on games activated on steam but not purchased there.

- if youre like me and have shyt for eyes, check out a program called f.lux. it adjusts the hue of your desktop according to the time of day and has been a godsend for me personally.

- ditto on the higher capacity ssd. mines is 500GB and if i had the cash i honestly would've gotten a terabyte.

- for hardware maintenance, hit up amazon or something for a can of compressed air (i like to buy em in bulk as they empty out hella fast) use it to dust out your pc every once in a while. also, it doesn't hurt to monitor your temps. there's a bunch of programs for that. i personally use one called speccy.

Would you happen to know the best VPNs that people pay for? My friend mentioned BTGuard

Deluge huh? Thanks, I'll check it out. I've seen a lot of people mention uTorrent. Any reason you don't use that?

Hey can you send me a link to yourbrain.exe? I'm aware of Malwarebytes, what do you think about CCleaner?

That compressed air is a good idea! Thanks man, take this dap and rep! Also do you use VMWare? That looks very useful.

Private Internet Access (PIA) is the best VPN in my opinion, and cheap too

Oculus Rift preorder starts on Jan 6th
do they have a release date or price?

...or a game besides Lucky's Tale? that's my thing with VR: I really haven't seen a 'killer app' yet. I'm most interested in the Valve/HTC joint, but I currently don't have a space for the walking around stuff

If the rift is $400 (which it should be considering the Dev kit was only $300), I'm preordering on Wednesday, no questions asked. If it's more than that, I'm waiting for reviews. I'm also really interested in the HTC Vive as well. If they sell the rift for more than $400, I think they're ripping the consumer off.

I might (might) go to $500 for it, but not a penny more. The Vive looks like it has more functionality and is probably worth more than $400. I dunno about the Rift.

One thing is certain though. I will have a VR headset in 2016. I just gotta see the price and functionality of each device more.

Help me please :sadbron:

I have an acer r3 471t
95% of the time it works fine. My biggest problem is the touch pad acting wonky then I have to restart it. No big deal

recently I've started downloading torrents and things seem to be ok but now my computer won't restart. Every time it gets stuck on the acer loading screen. Sometimes it'll give me the options. It did this last week after Windows media player would not open for shyt so I tried to do some fix, then restart my computer but it wouldn't work. Used a restore point. Now since my touch pad was acting up and I go to restart it, it's doing it again.

I'm guessing it's gonna happen every time I restart my computer. Any suggestions so I don't have to use a restore point every time I restart my computer?

Please

:sadcam:
