My friend is still with AMD and just bought the R9 Fury X the one with the water cooler made by Sapphire.
He told me I should get this card but I told him I'm going to wait and see what NVIDIA is releasing. I'm definitely leaning toward buying the GTX 1080.

I found the article. It was on nvidia's site. It said it's 2x faster than the Titan X on "certain VR applications." (whatever that means)
I really hope nvidia sends out review copies before the 27th. I want some real world comparisons between the new 1080 and the Titan X. If it's 30% better or more, I'm copping. If not, then I'll wait for the ti or Titan version.
VR is completely fine for me right now. Everything is dumbed down to the lowest common denominator (the 970). The only games that pushed my card to the max in VR were Project Cars and some Grand Canyon sim.
