pretty sure it won't just update to win10 on it's own :usure:
Microsoft has configured the update to install on it's own. You get a single popup and if you don't click on some small print in it then the update installs the next time you start up your computer or at the scheduled date it shows. Also if you close out the update prompt they count that as you agreeing to install the update.

They're making that final push to get as many people as possible on to Windows 10 because it has embedded spyware that data mines what you do on a PC so they can sell the data to advertisers. The reality is it's almost June and anyone that has heald out this long simply doesn't want Windows 10 but Microsoft's attitude seems to be if they can get you to use it you'll keep it.

All my PCs except my Windows Media Center one have Windows 10 on it and while it's not bad I don't want to give up WMC which Windows 10 doesn't have so I'm keeping that one at Windows 8.1 and if they force an update on it I'll be pissed. It's their fault because if Windows 10 had WMC on it I would have upgraded.

Thinking about copping another monitor. For those who have dual screen set ups, do yal have the same models for both monitors or nah?

Win 10 is really testing my patience...:francis:

First off I never clicked nothing for it to upgrade...

It forced the upgrade on its own overnight, I went to sleep last night and I was on Win 7...Woke up this morning and noticed my background is different and I'm now on win 10...:martin:

I was tight but I said fukk it let me give this a try since dx12 is the future and I have 30 days to revert back to win 7 if I don't like 10...

First thing I notice my games take longer to load and my boot time is about an extra 10-15 seconds...Gameplay is smooth but I notice some graphical glitches...My graphics drivers are out of date and its probably best to upgrade since Im on a new OS now...This process never took me longer than 3 minutes on win 7...So I download the update through geforce experience and it keeps failing over and over and over...then i tried to do it manually through device manager...no bueno...Had to manually uninstall all previous nvidia drivers and make sure no services were running...an hour and a half later it worked...:smh:
They got me like that too.
:francis:

Had some weird problem with SF5 as a result too, which never was the case when I was on Win8.1. Game would crash every 10 minutes or so. Had to google the issue and luckily there was a fix for it. Just glad my cracked software still intact
:whew:

That was the main reason I was hesitant on upgrading.

I tend to do so, but that's because I am anal about everything looking as clean as possible.

Yeah it's a bytch move by Microsoft. I think the idea is not only to get more people on board, but to stop focusing on legacy as well for the general consumers. Get that adoption rate up, then cut off support to Win 7/8 as fast as possible...kinda like how Apple does it.

I have many people who REFUSE to go past Windows 7 too. It is crazy how people fear change.

I am the wrong person to talk to then. I would likely throw it out or sell it on craigslist to get 2 new ones lol.

What size did you have in mind? Newegg had some nice LG IPS 1080P monitors for $100 each. 22" I believe.

:dwillhuh:You're one of the few people I've seen to actually acknowledge that Microsoft isn't the first company to do this tactic considering Apple been doing this for the longest. I think it was the iMac G3 when it first started.

I also agree on the fear of change since the general consumer doesn't really know that they've been spied on since 95 and just now worried about their digital privacy for the past few years since.

I talk about this with a co-worker of mine all the time. It is incredibly dumb how people view these things.

Oh, NO! I can't have Microsoft use some of my info to help improve their services, but let me go ahead and post my entire life on facebook for everyone to see and click on all the cat meme pics I find :krs:

No lies told here, it's a good thing I'm not on social media heavy except for networking (you know the real use of these apps) and dip from Facebook the moment they went public:mjpls:.

If only everyone was tech literate, then we wouldn't be stuck with all these issues we have nowadays.
