My DDR5 ram is 6000 mhz but is only running at 4800 mhz. I tried changing it in bios but it wouldn't boot. Any ideas?

i think i may have saw on another post you're using an AMD cpu? Check your motherboard's RAM compatibility list, it's possible your RAM wont work at all

The RAM is working just not at the speed it should. The board supports RAM that is faster than mine so I know it's compatible.

hmmm... have you enabled AMD Expo by any chance? Its been months since i built my new rig, i don't remember if the ram speed and expo options were separated or not. but if they are, it may be worth checking.

It doesn’t matter if your board supports faster speeds or not. What matters is whether or not the specific kit you’re using is certified for your board. Did you check your QVL before you bought it? If it won’t post after you enable XMP/EXPO then more than likely it’s not compatible out of the box and will require you to adjust timings and voltages manually.

Does the board list the specific ram you have as being supported by it? Go to the product page and make sure. If so, check to see if your bios firmware is up to date as it may have added the support for your ram in a later update than it’s currently running.

Suprim Liquid was a pain to get. MSI and Newegg were only selling it in bundles. The only place to get it by itself that I was aware of was Walmart. Which AM did you cop, the standard or the ice?
