the thing about B2 that i liked better than the OG was that they got rid of the puzzles for hacking the machines and a greater variety of enemies.

"a military sandbox game" I guess. I wouldn't call it a "military simulator", but it definitely provides a higher level of simulation than other military games. it's actually made by the same company that makes Virtual Battlespace 2, which is more of an actual "military simulator"

it a very open game, and a true "sandbox" that includes an editor. most of the content is user made. I don't know if you heard of "DayZ", but it was a mod for Arma 2. I would say the game mostly focuses on co-op stuff, but there are single player and competitive multiplayer stuff also. as you can see, it recently got Steam Workshop support, making it very easy to share content. there's also a lot of very serious groups that play this game, but I never really got into that

the game (arma 3) is currently in beta, and set for release I think sept 12th. it's definitely not the most polished game. it can be kinda clunky, performance can be unstable, and the controls can be unintuitive to new players. but there's really nothing else like it

I think this video sums the game up pretty well

Eh I'm kind of sad to say so far Bioshock 2 isn't seeing Bioshock 1 at all. It kinda seems to be missing that same atmosphere and that psychotic feeling...Iunno maybe it's too early. :yeshrug:

BTW has anyone heard any word of GTA V for PC? That multiplayer vid has me fiending :ohlawd:

If we're lucky, they drop a sudden PC port within weeks/month but the realistic part of me is looking at a PC release next year around spring time if going by previous GTAs.

I'm possibly triple dipping. PS3 day uno, Steam day one and PS4 day one if they make one.

Yeah, they're gonna make us pull out our consoles for a year and then buy it again next year and apply crazy ass mods :ohlawd:

Brehs I'm having this weird ass problem lately.

At first I thought it was just the game I was playing but I notice every game I play has frequent frame rate dips. It never happened before with the games I used to play. I would be playing Sonic ASRT and randomly the games framerate would halve and stay like that for about 30 seconds to a minute. Changing visual settings and options did nothing. I then tried DOTA 2 and that shyt did it, Planetside 2 did it, BF3, GTA IV, and it's the same thing. Switching graphics settings down to low did not change. I'm running Windows 8 and the rig is a AMD FX 4100, Radeon 7870, 8GB DDR3. I thought it was just my CPU but then I realized the same patterns occurred in every game I play at random moments i.e. performance drop even though much isn't happening.

I don't have any resource heavy apps running the background neither. I usually start up MSI afterburner and hit the profile button to load up my OC settings with the fan speed curve settings and go from there. I have a feeling it's my windows for some odd reason. Lately the PC would not shut down and it would hang at the shutting down screen.

idk. you can try using the Resource Monitor to watch a few things, to see if you can see anything happen when the performance drops
