OK PC experts...my PC finally died on me and I'm ready to cop a PC. I think I'm going to go ahead and "sorta" go all out and spend a little extra money for a decent gaming PC or at least a base that would allow me to make it nice in the future. Here's the deal.

I originally wanted to just replace my PC to continue my music production...that's all I used it for. Now I'm in a situation where my new PC HAS to come from sears.com (in order for me to get my PC work discount)...I came across a cyberpower brand PC that's supposedly a "gaming" rig. I couldn't spend more than $1,000...this one is just over a thousand. What do you think? I know this is missing some things....keep in mind I need something with a strong base to work wit...enough for me to have the option to really go out later if need be. Tell me what you think and what things I should look for

Would be much appreciated.

If I use sears I only pay 700+ tax pretty much...so it HAS to come from this site. Liquid I'd like your expertise...seems like you know a lot. Is this a good rig to start with? Only thing that jumps out to me is the i7 CPU and the max ram potential along with liquid cooling...outside of that I don't know what else to look for as far as future upgrades...let me know please.

That's probably the best you are going to find there. If you can get it down to $700 and change then its a good buy. I hope the RAM is not 1066, but I doubt it will be from cyberpower. I am thinking it will be at 1333, 1600 or maybe if you are lucky 1866.

The nividia gtx650 is decent, but the 1GB bothers me. I think @daze23 has that card right now or someone in here does I am sure. The processor alone is over $320 with the 650 going for about $140 brings you to about $460 already before the motherboard, ram, case, hard drive, blu-ray player, and the power supply. I am not sure what kind of power supply cyberpower puts in their builds, but thats the chance you take with pre-builds :yeshrug:

Can all that be changed later on down the road though? Is the motherboard suitable for future upgrades?

I want To be able to swap gfx cards down the road...as well as what's needed to go along with it. Is this case/motherboard/etc suitable for future upgrades?

Excuse my PC ignorance...still learning.

Everything on a pc can be changed out as long as its not proprietary, which I don't think Cyberpower does. If you want to get a stronger card then that, then you might have to upgrade the power supply first.

That motherboard and CPU should be good for a LONG time. Unless it doesn't support overclocking for some strange reason. I am pretty sure it does.

I haven't bought a pre-build since the late 90's...so I am a little out of date on that section of the market. Just stay away from Dell/HP and you should be fine.

Breh why would you link me to something for over 2400 beans? 1,000 or less on sears.com.

That thing is a monster btw...I don't take gaming that quite serious lol

I like cyber power PCs. If you go to there site, you basically can build whatever you want, for a minimal extra fee.

In your situation, I'd try to find that extra hundred or so and get:

Better everything. That 650 in the other system
