the R9 290 is 3% weaker than the R9 290X at $400. If i can sell this GTX 670 for a decent price i'm likely gonna buy a 290 and throw it in my 3750k build that way one will have a GTX 780 and the other the R9 290 and if a game is optimized for either brand i can play it well.

Tom's found that the retail 290x they bought performed much worse than the one they were sent

that's quite a silicone lottery

edit: that's true for two retail 290x's they bought

However, the two retail Radeon R9 290X boards in our lab are both slower than the 290 tested today. They average lower clock rates over time, pushing frame rates down.Clearly there’s something wrong when the derivative card straight from AMD ends up on top of the just-purchased flagships. So who’s to say that retail 290s won’t follow suit, and when we start buying those cards, they prove to underperform GeForce GTX 780? We can only speculate at this point, though anecdotal evidence gleaned from our experience with R9 290X is suggestive.

I got problems breh. Every time I install Battlefield 4 it substantially increases my boot times. I isolated it to Battlefield 4 (I didn't install punkbuster the 3rd time I tried) and for some reason that game is fukking my shyt up. msconfig says nothing else is starting up when I boot, but something must be. Anybody else have this problem with Battlefield 4? I wanna play this game, if only to see the graphics, but I don't wanna fukk up my computer to do it. Suggestions?
