of course, if you have a real old mobo, you might have a problem with a 3TB with bios over 2TB, but i doubt it. if for some space you arent getting like 2.8 TBs out of it, its probably a disk partition thing

The Coli
just connect it to your SATA port on MOBO and SATA power connector (you might have some extra ones piggybacking your main HD).

windows will recognize it, format+partition on disk management
Aight, good looks. Do HD's normally not include any screws or SATA cables? :dahell: The paper for the HD says SATA III, on my motherboard it has SATA 1through 6, does it matter where it gets plugged in at? SATA III is empty, I just want to know...

Also I don't have any SATA cables, are they all the same thing?

totally depends on how you copped your hard drive and your case. I usually crack open externals (somehow ends up cheaper). You should have mounting screws attached to the side of the hard drive (it will be obvious)

Your case can also make this step easier. You might not get SATA cables, there should be extra ones with your Mobo. They are all the same, attach it to any free SATA III port (which slot is SATA II vs SATA III on your HD, I have no clue)

Good looks, my PC is a regular Gateway  I have no clue which port is which. The one that the oem HD is plugged into is blue, rest of them is black. Thats the only difference.

I ended going to tiger direct, got the screws and the data 3 cabe.

also at the moment the best you can do is use these other controllers to emulate a 360 pad. might as well cut to the chase

I understand if you have a ps4, and you want a consistent controller experience. or if there is something in particular you like about it
Yea if you already have a 360 pad it's best to go with that but if you just want a different controller it works well enough emulating it. I just gave my cousin my old wired 360 controller so he can use on his PC to play some steam games I let him download. His PC though is :flabbynsick: My jaw did NOT drop when I tried to run some games.

your motherboard should have more than one SATA input.
it seems that you have found them.

unplug your computer.

hook up your new hard drive to a SATA port.

re-plug your pc...power it up.

fukk the screws, i have had multiple HD's and an SSD hooked up with no screw for years.
if you wanna hook up the screws then go for it...i let my shyt just chill...like for years breh....years.

if you wanna do anything fancy with your bios then that's another story.

get some rice and get to da choppa.

Props. Can i swap around what i'm guessing is the power cord? Right now P6 is connected to the OG HD & P5 is free, I was gonna plug that into the new HD but when I plug it in its kinda short so it pulls on the cord from the OG HD. If I swap it around it doesn't pull.

SATA 1-6 just means that you can hook up 6 hard drives.

i'm assuming that you are hooking up a new hard drive for storage.
plug it into the port closest to the one you are already using.

Sata III is like DDR 2 or DDR 3, it does not refer to the number of ports you have available.

if it comes from the power supply and it reaches what i has to, then that is all that matters....monkey with it if you have to.
always save your wires and power chords from your power supply.

i got a new graphics cars recently and the chords they supplied were not enough....luckily i had a stash.
i made it work.

move your hard drives as close as you can to your power supply...it helps if your cables are short.

those 4 prong female/male connections are the key...

get to know them and where they connect from and where you need them to go.

once you get that down it's like Legos.
