ahh okay some of these motherboard combos on Newegg are breaching 500. Is it more efficient to just buy the shyt and hook it up myself?

also is i7 a requirement for greatness?

I"m pretty sure you can get off just getting a nice i5. but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

for comparison. The Recommended CPU for Battlefield 3 is a "quad core" processor.

The Coli brehs let me know when I was building mine that I didn't even need a sound card because the motherboard I had already had it.

It's worked out for me.

I don't even have a DVD/CD drive either.

yea youre right most of the mobos nowadays have built in sound card, so you dont even need a separate one; I usually get a new one or just get the pci card off one of my older boxes, since I care about quality and different outputs

real talk what games are even only runnable on these specs? I can run pretty much everything on my laptop but of course it doesn't look ridiculous. plus I would be giving up fighters and jrpgs jumping to pc. Sorry if just asking a few ?? before I make the jump brehs. trying to get all my thoughts in order. As a broke college student this is a big sink of money

thats because it is easy. once your build your first system the other ones will be pieces of cake. even building your first one isnt hard at all, just look at instructions on the net or something if you get stuck

i fukk around a bit in Fruity loops but as far as production not a big thing atm so I can probably skip on that. Is the SSD thing a noticeable difference in loading? like going from nothing to i5 (what my laptop is) it was pretty huge. So its either SSD for perfomance or HD for price? sounding like I can put together a pretty good (not optimal) rig with like 400 dollars

400 isnt realistic. you want a video card worth at least 120 bucks. that would leave 180 for everything else...definitely not realistic. when I spend around 800-900 on a system I go something like 170-200 card, 80-100 ram, 300-350 cpu+mobo, 150 case+psu roughly (that number really depends tho on what kind of tower and what kind of cooling, like last time I built a system I spent 200)
