Need Help.

I have a 3tb hd im using for extra storage, when going to computer managment it says 2040.00gb unallocated and a box that says 746.52 unallocated next to it.

This is my 1st time hooking up the HDD

Im new to this aspect, so bear with me.

Im following directions from the dude on newegg.

My dumbass went and formatted that one sector, so I have 2tb drive working and 746.52gb I cant format but it says device is working properly :why:

Delete both sectors and it will combine the unallocated space on the drive. Then recreate the partition.

bought Left 4 Dead 2 and Final Fantasy 13(well, preordered in its case)

I havent played either L4D so getting both for less than 20 bucks is cool in my book.

Skipping all the boring tech talk, OS's are designed to see a maximum of 2 TB of disk space for an OS disk.

If you are using a 32 bit OS then technically your not supposed to be able to use the other 1TB...but there is a process for doing so...I think it's way to long and convoluted to be worth it though...upgrade to a 64 bit OS

If you are using a 64 bit OS then you should be able to format the disk as a GPT partition and be able to access all 3 TB

If it's your first time using it then it probably wasn't formatted to use GPT...I don't think I have ever bought a hardrive larger than 2TB that was out of the box

the GTX 980 doesn't come with a free game? I guess I'm gonna have to wait for that AC Unity and see if they give that away. By then the 5% off online purchases will have kicked in on the credit card anyway to help out.

yeah, they know these early adopters are thirsty and will buy those cards without the incentive of a free game(s)

i will break the $250 limit with the next gpu i get but that won't be until next year.
the 560ti and 760 have been so good to me but i think it's time that i jump to the 980...next year when there may be a price drop.

Nvidia is also prepping a 960. It's rumored to be released in a month or so. Will be interesting to see what kind of performance that thing gets as it will most likely be $250 give or take.

Ty.

Its 64bit. And yeah I was able to format the 2tb partition, but not the 746gb.

I can only view the properties of the 746gb.partition.

I tried to load windows on it and got a error.
