scale down as needed.
i have a 760 and i need to turn some shyt down.
i can play any game, some games i gotta go down to High on some settings rather than Ultra.
still looks good and i get way more FPS.
AA settings can be a problem sometimes, just gotta find the right one.
so I d/l'ed the 3.7gb HD texture pack for Shadow of Mordor. played a little bit with ultra textures. a slight stutter here and there, but nothing too bad. the ultra textures definitely don't look that much better than high

Sleeping Dogs was the last game that i really noticed a big difference in textures from Ulta to High...they never did fix the fruit and veggies though.
I can't even see a difference. even the distant textures look the same. I'm going back to high to eliminate any stutter when I pan the camera
edit: ok, my methodology was fuct up, because apparently you have to restart the game for texture changes to kick in. however that makes it hard to do a direct comparison, because location and time of day tends to change. here's some new shots:
medium textures:
high textures:
ultra textures:
you can definitely see a difference now (aside from the differences in lighting caused by the time of day also changing). I'm still sticking with 'high' though, cause the 'ultra' stutter was kinda annoying
