refresh rate is better on the asus, but the dell has a higher resolution

http://www.cnet.com/products/dell-ultrasharp-u2412m/specs/

If those asus are $200 again, I'd seriously consider buying 3 of em. They're good monitors

That 1200p on the dell causes problems in some games cuz of letterboxing, but that is few and far between. it's an atypical resolution. It's 16:10 I think, not 16:9
i personally would go (and have) 2x dell ones, ips panel, less fatiguing on the eyes, better for color. for gaming the asus might be better

Thanks brehs, I went with the Dell.

Now it's time to get a new card. I was thinking about getting a 970 to last me for the next 5 years but after reading @Liquid thread now I'm interested in used cards :ld: Never even thought about it before.

It all depends on your budget. You can get an R9 280X for like $150

do you really need to back up the SSD before you update it?
I didn't, but I live on the edge :smugfavre:

it is what it is. everything will probably go smooth, but there's a slight chance you could lose all the data on the drive

i already have it, i'm trying to clone my SSD onto my HDD as a backup first with Samsung Data Migration but it's only giving me the option to migrate to another SSD.
yeah the migration tool is basically for cloning your current HDD to a SSD. you can backup your SSD with whatever backup program, or just copy everything the old fashion way
