Do u think Nvidia would let u get a refund? Cause I might tell my cuz about it. He's pissed the fukk off..If those 980tis work in sli surround, I might ask for a refund from nvidia. They still haven't fixed the titan x sli surround bug. I didn't pay $2k to play on 1 1440p monitor. Not that the witcher could do 3 monitors at all ultra 60fps, but it's the principle.
U good for a while bro. Really no need to upgrade from that anytime soon. If u do upgrade it would be to an i7 3770k considering the cpu u have now. Not sure what mobo u have or if it supports haswell cpu's so I cant recommend those to u..more than likely u have a bios update that should make it support it tho. If so u can go with an i7 4770k...i7 4790k.or even an i5 4690k..

the 980ti is basically the same chip as the TitanX, so it will probably have the same issues

Nah breh, the stock cooler is just fukking trash period. I don't know how nikkas sli these things with stock coolers.
it should be better with a more aggressive fan curve. but 74 while idle doesn't sound right
