I'm going to need a new PC soon.

I need it to be strong in terms of graphic design and video editing.

I'm looking to spend up to $800 if I need to, but if I hit $1000 I may as well pay $1400 for the MacBook Pro (which is what I have now, and it treats me well). And if there aren't any solid options I'll probably just go ahead and spring for a new MacBook.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
If you can allow that 1,000k budget you like I can whip you up a pc for around that price on pcparts picker then link you the build, if you like. One question do you have a monitor?

No disrespect bro but I have no idea who you are. Do you have a business? How would the warranty work?

I'm more so looking for recommendations.

I'm unfamiliar with that process to be honest. I'm really just looking for recommendations.

I'm also leaning towards laptops. Any suggestions?
Honestly, it sounds like a higher end used macbook pro would fit your needs best given that you are already on the mac team. A $1,400 budget should get you a nice high end MacBook Pro that is still under applecare from late 2012 or early 2013ish.

No PC Laptop is worth that much money IMO unless you are a heavy gamer (which I don't recommend either tbh).

Build a desktop or buy a MacBook appear to be your only reasonable options. Since it appears you don't wan to build..you know your answer already :ld:

No disrespect was taken, I will explain it to you often times when people want help with certain computer builds they ask others what parts they should use. Pcpartspicker.com allows a user to shop parts and select the ones they want to use without buying them, then it generates a link that can be posted for others to see what parts where selected. From their if a person likes the parts selected they can order them and build their own computer. You said your budget was 1k well these are the parts I would use in a high end video editing machine the case is also very silent http://pcpartpicker.com/p/R8sZCJ

@LeyeT as @Liquid said you are in hard waters with the wanting of a laptop, most main stream laptops are not design to handle video editing, video editing properly requires not only a strong cpu but a decent gpu rarely found in a laptop under 1,500. For around 1,000 you can build your own desktop that would plow through video editing. I am a YouTuber and doing video work with a good computer can mean the difference from a video rendering in 5min instead of a few hours. Any how good luck with what ever you decide to go with.

I thought about a desktop but I like to move around and do my work in different places. I was hoping there would be a laptop that isn't as expensive as the Macbook Pro but can still handle the graphic design/video editing. But if I have to buy another MBP it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

I appreciate all the feedback.

A gaming laptop between $1000-$1500 will get the job done fine. Only thing better would be the high end 15" pro.

Well the Lenovo y50 is a ok option but you will need to swap out the stock hard drive in most 1500 dollar laptops I couldn't picture video editing with a 5400 rpm hard drive. But that is a decent laptop and theirs even a 16 gb ram model

What's a good video card in the $100-$125 range? I currently have a geforce 7900 GS. I don't really play games anymore, so I don't need anything too powerful. I've just been noticing that 1080p videos on youtube is stuttering like crazy so I figure my videocard can't handle HD video.

Rest of my setup if it helps
Core 2 duo 6600
abit ip35 pro motherboard
4 gigs of ram

A 750 ti would be your best option if you can add like 10$ more newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=14-487-025

Thanks breh. Can you re-link the product page? Link doesn't work.

Stupid question, but do I need a new motherboard for this? Mine only supports PCIE 2.0 i think.
