Looks like I'm gonna have to pull the trigger on an HGST Ultrastar He8 8tb 7200rpm HDD now (for $427. )

Those VR splurges have got my 6tb down to like 500gb

I can't believe they make 8tb 7200rpm HDDs now though. shyt is crazy

first build brehs, I'm about to get into this

never put one together before, but pretty sure I'm good. watched a good amount of vids on youtube, build logs and shyt

definitely didn't go all the way crazy on the internals. those i7's were calling me though.

got a 500w evga power supply, a 1tb blue caviar that i got for the low, and a 120gb kingston ssd for about the same.


any pro tips for putting this thing all together?

Looks like the GTX1080 and 1070 are coming in June. the 1080 might not be better enough than a 980 ti to justify the upgrade. I'll probably wait for a 1080 ti to switch.

need some help brehs.

put everything together, power on, seems like everything is running fine, then the power cuts out.

then it seems like its gonna start up again, repeat

same things just keeps happening.

took it all apart, put it back, made sure everything was tight, same issue.

any idea what i did wrong?

Yeah, I'm waiting for the Titan Pascal or the Ti version
