yeah, it's different for different games. the 680 wins every time though. not to mention the fact that those settings push both cards to around 30fps shows there might be other inherent bottlenecks that limits both cards. in other words if you want to compare the cards, you should find an example where they both have a little more 'breathing room'. cause apparently neither card is really up to the task of running the game at those settings

there's also another factor that might be relevant, and that's the fact that the 680 was the first card to drop from the 600 series
the 680 is the "flagship" card but again its like about $460

the 670 is like $380 and is so close to performance to the flagship that the extra gains aren't worth the money. either way when people with 670s are forced to replace their cards people with 680s are likely gonna be in the same boat or a few months away from it.

The reason people got the 670 over the 680 is cause

1. the 680 was sold out a lot of places when it first came out(670s came out a little later)

2. 680 was $500-550 when it first came out and the 670 came out was $360-420. The price gap is fading because they have been out so long and introducing the 690/titan. The 670 was the better value a few months ago, but the 680 was/is the better card.

Did anyone pick up the new starcraft expansion? I used to be into these kinda games when I was younger but they look so complicated now after watching streams of them I feel :flabbynsick: just trying to keep up watching other people playing let alone trying to play myself :damn:

the higher end cards are never gonna be the 'most bang for your buck'

Winb I hear you about the bang for buck talk, but if anyone is really interested in getting the most for their dollar just grab a 7850 and keep it moving. Hell buy 2 of them and crossfire them up if you are concerned about trying to max out games @ 1080P+

I'm at the end of Chapter 13 in Max Payne 3...that damn police station :whoo:

question what made you buy a 680? a 670 can be had for $80 cheaper and overclocked can match a 680's performance. a 670 FTW pretty much matches a 680's performance and cost $50 less.

Well, I just wanted the best available at the time. I was coming from a 550Ti and had some issues with the card. Honestly, overclocking scares me as my 550ti was overclocked and used to crash my system repeatedly due to unstable power demands it used to create in my pc. 680 actually uses less power and is alot more stable. No complaints thus far.

Question that may sound dumb but fukk it...

:yeshrug:

I installed Steam on my 3TB instead of my SSD. When I download a game on Steam, it's going to my 3TB right? I can't seem to find the folder where the games are being downloaded to to make sure.

When you are about to download a game, it should ask you where to install them under. It would be X:\Steam\steamapps\common\Gamewhatever

ok, I got 3 invites for the Arma 3 'lite alpha'

first come first serve. it requires Steam, and I'll need your Steam name to send it out

I also still have one Dota 2 invite :noah:

The Arma 3 Alpha Lite is a limited version of the Arma 3 Alpha – providing people with the opportunity to try out the singleplayer showcase missions, a selection of weapons and vehicles, and the scenario editor. Unlike the regular Arma 3 Alpha, the Arma 3 Alpha Lite does not feature a multiplayer component or modding support, and does not include access to the Arma 3 Beta and complete game later on. To participate in the Alpha Lite, people need to be invited by those who have purchased the regular Arma 3 Alpha. The Arma 3 Alpha Lite will be discontinued on June 18th, 2013.
