By the way, 780 will be unveiled/released next week. 770 the following week. 780 will feature a cut down GK110 GPU (what's in Titan).

:whoa: what makes you think that ? with the success of the 600 series, the 700 series will follow that as well I would imagine

I would imagine the 780 being $500, 770 being $400

There's no way the 780 is going to be $500. Its a GK110 GPU. It'll most likely be anywhere between $599-$699. Doubt it will be priced higher than 700 though as that will get it within 690/Titan prices. The 770 will take the 680's place as it's just a refresh of it. It's already being reported that you can bios flash 680s to 770.

Edit: Actually, people are already flashing their 680s with the 770 bios..:heh:

The 770 is said to have 6+8 pin PCI-e sockets though vs the 680's 2x6 hinting that the 770 has potential for supporting higher voltages. Not sure how that will affect people bios flashing

I bought the 680 this year and couldn't be fukking happier. Are people seriously spending upwards on 1000 on a video card? :mindblown:

Unless your doing intense graphical manipulations, is it really necessary for the average consumer to purchase these right now?

@Ciggavelli

Very high temps on that 690. The little time I had mine on air, overclocking with custom profiles similar to what daze23 mentioned I never got over 70c. With Kepler based cards you want to keep temps under 70c as they start to throttle after that point. They'll downclock themselves to compensate for the heat.

What case is your system in and how is your air flow?

Yeah, I think I'm having airflow issues. I'm gonna have to spend the weekend looking at this shyt. I was reading that it should be at 85c at max load, (and the gpus are definitely at max load when playing blood dragon and tomb raider, due to the surround). I'm gonna have to fix the airflow and fan profile I think. HOpefully that'll fix everything
