I've been fukking around with my computer backing shyt up and my computer is fukked. It definitely needs this clean install. Trying to get everything down to 128 gb for the ssd is real difficult though. I put all my music, games, etc. on my data drive, but I can't get that shyt down much further. Too many my documents and shyt. You can't move your program files (x86) to another hard drive can you?

EDIT: Nah, it's not even that program files shyt. It's my users info. I can't bring it down :to: I shoulda got a 250gb :to:

Edit 2: What if I just put windows on that shyt? What happens to users folders, etc?

Edit 3: I made a restore disc the first day i bought the computer, so i'm gonna try to bring it back to those settings and then migrate to the ssd in order to avoid a a completely fresh install. If that doesn't work, I'm going with the fresh windows install (which shouldn't really be that big of an issue after the restore disc anyway)

what's taking up so much space in your user folder? if it's music, pics, etc, you can put that elsewhere

It's documents mostly and saves for games and bullshyt iTunes shyt that when I move automatically get placed back in the folder :comeon:

I can trim down now, but I'm worried about the future once the drive is installed. I can try to redirect, but I dunno

I love that fukking game. I played it for over 220hours now

Is it worth it to play with random people? I copped it for PC expecting to play it with my brother, but our schedules never match up. I've barely put any time into it. I'm thinking I should have got it for Xbox since none of friends PC game at all.

you can set up itunes to use a different folder/drive for your 'music library'

save-games and such shouldn't take too much space

Crazy price drop on the 7990. Some models can be had now for under $700 including 8 games. Not to mention the fixed frame pacing drivers came out last week. :wow:

It's EOL now though so it won't last long,

Yeah, it's fine playing with randoms. You can level up much quicker that way too

I tried that so many times last night. It will not save for some reason. Every time I put it to my data drive, it automatically goes back to C: when I restart the app. shyt is really pissing me off.

The saved games isn't a big deal, except when you consider games like Skyrim, but I guess I could delete a lot of those saves anyway. I'll keep trimming

Why not just copy your entire user folder onto another drive then move whatever you need back after the clean install? Am I missing something?

I can definitely do that, but I'm just concerned about the future. I guess I don't need all of my documents (although I would like them). I guess I'll just do that. Plus that hidden "App Data" folder is taking up like 20 gb. I assuming I need that, or can I clear that out? If I could clear that out, I'd be all good

Edit: Yeah, I'll just get rid of my documents and call it a day. I'll figure something out

Edit2: Even if I completely get rid of My Documents I'm still at 127 gb. I dunno what the fukk is up. Program files are only at 8gb. I dunno :yeshrug:

I need help choosing a new graphics card...I'm looking to do some light gaming (I've never been a PC gamer before) and use it to watch movies/etc on my TV.

Here's my setup:
CPU AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black 3.2GHz 6-Core
Motherboard Asus M4A88TD-M/USB3 Micro ATX AM3
Case Cooler Master HAF X ATX Full Tower
Power Supply CoolMax 500W ATX12V

I'd like to stay under $100 if possible...but ok with going over if it really gets me something that will last awhile.

Any suggestions??

it won't move the music for you (I don't think). you have to move all the files yourself, then tell itunes where the new folder is

I think it still uses the /music folder in your documents for some other data though. I just checked and mine has like 0.9 gb of album-artwork, and all those backup lists of my library

You're not accounting for the huge page file windows creates on larger drives. Nor are you for reserved spaces for your recycling bin, system restore, and hibernation mode. These can easily add up to 40GB+.
