What is the benefit of overclocking your CPU?
@Leasy my bad b I been away for a min, but OC the cpu properly can give you a nice boost to cpu intensive task such as video editing and multitasking.. Most people improperly OC which yeilds a unstable OC and people have the idea that the OC is non noticeable... If done properly you will notice the difference. In games a higher clock speed will increase your frames per second and also help with frame drops you have, in intensive parts of a game like BF3. Over Clocking properly can take hours of apply voltages and lowering them blue screens and failed testing, use Prime 95 it will be your best friend. NEVER use any of that software auto overclocking crap it normally gives unstable OC that apply high voltages to your cpu..

This game runs the most intensive Benchmark to date I run it on 1920x1080 at Max setting its a good way to test your OC with fraps running to see where you have fram drips and increase to fps.. This is my Overclock my cpu is base clocked at 3.5 I have it at 4.2ghz my gpu base is in the display if you wish to run that benchmark heres the link to download it.. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/benchmark/

I got some questions brehs, I got some questions.

So I'm gonna do this fresh install this weekend. I'm putting my OS on a 128gb SSD. My case has 4 drive bays, three of which are filled (currently OS on a 500gb hybrid, a 1tb and a 4tb). Can I put my ssd in bay 4 and make the rest slaves, or do I have to switch out the hybrid and put the ssd in bay one and the hybrid in bay 4 (or whatever)?

EDIT: So, I have SATA drives, so I'm all good and can make whatever drive I want the master?
Yea But format all the drives so theirs no driver errors with the new install from their in your bios set up your ssd as your first boot drive, doesn't matter what port it's in just make sure when you installing your OS on to the SSD that you format EVERY other HARD Drive. I would also set up a partition that way in the future you can do a system restore and not have to go through the process of reinstalling from strach.

690 has been reported to have more issues right?
thats insane that both card would fail though :to: sucks breh

Yeah, the 690 is having problems. When I was doing searches for a solution to my problem, it seems like so many people are having issues with the card. It's crazy. What are the odds that 2 cards in a row would be fukked up though? At least the 2nd one lasted more than a week....lol. They better RMA that shyt, and this third one better fukking work for more than 7 months...:sadcam:

Thanks for the info breh. I had no idea that I would have to format every other HDD. Good thing I backed all of them up on an external. Still, that's gonna take a long time, but I know it'll be worth it in the end. I'm made a recovery disc and threw it on a usb, so when I install win 7 on the new ssd this weekend, everything should be easy. It'll just be the waiting with the formatting of the drives (one of mine is 4tb...:bryan:)

unless you perform some heavy cpu tasks AND your cpu is not very powerful, youll only be able to tell a difference (and by that I mean >5 fps) by overclocking a pretty damn good amount :manny:

brehs, my desktop PC keeps shutting off, it can't be overheating.. my guess is it's a power supply issue. It started off by shutting down whenever I would play a video game but now it just shuts off for no reason, even after just turning it on.
