I'm definitely waiting for the benchmarks come Tuesday but I expect them to be solid cards.

Don't have to wait, just look up 7970 GHZ benchmarks. It's the same card, different shroud, perhaps clocked a bit higher out the box.

@2gunsup Prime95 completed 746 tests in 23 hours and 4 minutes with no errors and warnings.
What's the point of going any longer?? Realistically I wouldn't be running something extremely demanding for 24 hours or more straight. Hell it seems completely arbitrary.

There is no point unless you want a higher electric bill this month, . You're good to go It's recommended you do a few hours though since 2-3 hours doesn't guarantee everything is fine. I've had an error pop up 12 hours into a test before,

brehs, i need a quick rundown on the basics for building an NAS. besides the case and hard drives what do you recommend for a basic build (hopefully cheaply)? I mainly will just be using to store movies and TV shows and run them to my HTPC.

Is BF4 beta running poor for you guys?

I just got off, it was running smooth for me depending on which server I was in. I have an i5-3570K and a 7850 2GB card and it was staying between 45 to 60fps. I have the video settings on "auto" also.

I have Windows 8 on my rig as well.

Saturday I played an 8 hour game of Civ 5...STRAIGHT I never felt so satisfied and dissatisfied with myself.

It was a crazy game. Still not even done with it.

A motherboard with plenty of sata ports, decide on what OS you will be using, raid or no raid, be sure to purchase case/psu with room for future expansion.

This is what I had went with,

Asrock Pro4 LGA 1155 - 8 Sata Ports
i3-3225 (started off with a a 35-40 dollar Celeron depending but upgraded due to work load)
8GB of Ram (overkill, started off with 4GB)
Corsair CX500

Just by a Synology NAS unit. I purchased the synology 410 and its been a hardworking beast. Works between Macs and Windows PC's as well.

This is a cheaper unit if your on a strict budget.
