Brehs. Best Widescreen set Gaming monitor out there? It would simplify things for me because I could also use it for work as a 'dual screen' setup in a widescreen form
We need more details. Budget, size, must have features.
Samsung and LG have some good monitors.

What resolution do you want? 1440p? 4k? 1080P?

Do you want built in audio for the monitors? Asking because if you're a headphone user or use a set of separate speakers could save money buying a screen without built in speakers.

Flat or curved widescreen?

If you play a lot of first person online shooters you want a screen with a high refresh rate and if you're more into single player games and work task the refresh rate isn't as important.
This. Speakers on monitors are always trash. So if audio is important, invest in some good speakers or headphone.

I use a 42' oled tv as a monitor. I can never go back to something smaller.

If he looking to save some money brands like Acers, and Sceptre all have affordable widescreen monitors.

Like you said just need more details because his budget, and computer use will determine what's best for him.

Getting some stutters in RE9 :martin:

Playing at 4k on pc with an oc'd 9700x, 32gb cl30 6000 hynix RAM with some stock oc timings from my MSI motherboard bios, stock 5070ti, RT high, most settings high, all chromatic/ lens flare style settings disabled, dlss quality + 2x FG, display capped to 117. No PT.

Only seem to notice them during cutscenes but that might just be subconscious :jbhmm:

Annoying because I don't want to spread the wallet for an x3d, especially for AAA at 4k, except maybe at AM5's end of life. Never noticed this in cp2077 either. Just a question of driver maturity??

I'm so glad I bought my insane OriginPC last year. It cost me a pretty penny, but it's probably a lot more now. The 6090 is next year. The water cooled 5090 I have now obliterates games at 4Kx2 (if they have DLSS). DLSS has been the best thing to happen to games in like 5 years.

PC gaming is like on life-support after the AI data centers became the priority. It's priced things outta the world. We'll see what happens next year, but PC gaming is gonna be a $5k+ realm to get a good setup. I paid $11K for my setup, but it'll be good for a year or more. I'll just replace my 5090 with a 6090. With a $750 PS5 Pro, it almost makes sense to go console over PC. But then you're stuck at 16:9, 60fps, low ray-tracing, etc. PC gaming is still the premier way to play, but the PS5 Pro is crazy for the "low" price. At this point in time, if you're just starting out, I'd say get a PS5 pro. It's just so much cheaper :yeshrug:

Even tho my 8700k/3080 has fallen into upper-mid territory, it’s still better than the consoles, but getting the P5 Pro is the first time I haven’t been 100% on which platform I was getting games :patrice: . RE9 is already the first RE I bought on console since 5, and now I’m thinking I might go that direction for Crimson Desert.

I know I’m not touching any new components until all this AI and memory shyt dies down, and the console is a more comfortable set up for me to lounge for a couple hrs
