I don't think you know what you are talking about. One of Nigeria's main problem is corruption and embezzlement of state resources, even by African standards it is an extremely corrupt country. This is a problem that preceded Obama and Goodluck Jonathan.

It is. Obama ensured Jonathan’s defeat by working with Hausa-Fulani governors and letting David Axelrod clean up Buhari’s image because he believed that a Muslim would defeat Boko Haram.
Instead, Buhari allowed Fulani militias to tear Nigeria apart. Now, armed Fulani militias are invading Yorubaland. And Buhari’s incompetence crushed Nigeria’s economy and saddled it with immense debt. Plus Boko Haram/ISWAP hasn’t been defeated in battle.
