Black politics is something you don’t understand because you’re not a stake holder.

Black politics is something you don't understand because you make statements like this
"Not even the most ardent white supremacists create such explicit policies in their favor."

What you need to do is go get the one guy you have on staff who kind of sort of knows a little bit about american politics and get him to post...

Not the guy who post all that whack ass music in the booth and is like "this shyt fire!"

Not the guy who can't decide if he loves or hates race hustler Tariq...

Go get the guy who made the comments about the dems and immigration...which is wrong by the way...thats just white people moving the goal post...

All gays got was the right to Marry? So all gays got WAS THE EXACT THING THAT WAS AT THE TOP OF THEIR LIST THAT WAS SPECIFIC TO THEM THAT YOU SAYING BLACK PEOPLE CANT GET?

Whichever one of you is the supervisor you need to fire whoever this guy is posting now...this is some borderline st0rmfr0nt shyt right here

For one Native Americans have received reparations for lands that were stolen.
NPR Choice page

Obama implemented a policy for Hispanics that would block them from getting deported and allow them to renew work permits. Technically it was for all 'immigrants', but a great majority of the recipients were Hispanic (85% from what I read)..
Here's a fact sheet about Obama policies extended to the Hispanic community: FACT SHEET: Obama Administration Efforts that have Expanded Opportunities for the Hispanic Community

And of course, same sex marriage is specifically for Homosexuals. Also, they have medical policies that specifically for them: Policies on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Queer (LGBTQ) Issues | AMA
well it's not technically for all illegals immigrants it was for all illegal immigrants.

the supreme court ruled that same sex couples could participate in the same thing that hetero (i guess i shouldn't say normal) couples participate in. the AMA policies you cite are guidelines about not treating them differently. no special status was created for them that is not available to hetero people.

Gays getting married is a specific thing not targeted to any ethnicity.

Racist policies are coded.

In fact I dare you show me a policy on the books and enforced today that explicitly and exclusively is for white people, NOT implicitly.

Why do people think Florida voted for DeKlantis and to restore voting rights to returning citizens, who are going to be disproportionately black?

In case you were wondering, it's very relevant to this thread. :aicmon:

DeSantis is actually against that Amendment in Florida
i think the poster is supporting your position, but i could be wrong. seems like he's saying you can achieve objectives that help black people disproportionately without using words like "the black felons voter restoration amendment" and just approach it as a common sense issue and have white people support it while voting for a candidate that doesn't support it (because he understands fully what it means). make it about black people specifically and it's DOA, never even make it to the ballot.

Nap is absolutely right (Never thought I would utter those words) on this.

Even when affirmative action policies were passed in a much more receptive environment immediately following the civil rights movement, those policies had to be broadened to win support.

The way some people talk of the black only policies is as if we live in a different reality.

We live in a racially tense society where programs that help ALL poor and disenfranchised people are constantly under attack because racists believe they take money from hardworking whites and give it to undeserving blacks.

Given the reality of this kind of society, why do certain people feel like they can politicians can pass policies that only help black people.

I’m not opposed to programs that help black people specifically, I just think they are highly unlikely to the point of being impossible.

I UNDERSTAND THE FRUSTRATION!!!!

But...its stupid policy.

The biggest white supremacists in congress don't even make "all white policies."...they're smarter than that. Thats why they're so evil.

But here you have black pundits who are rightly frustrated but yet confused about how to get anything done.

They're basically asking for a Black Jim Crow version of laws. Thats just not going to happen. And anyone who even remotely says such a thing will have their career ended.

Look what happened to Steve King in Iowa. He came out as a literal white supremacist and while the GOP defunded everything around him, he still won reelection because it was too late. Fact is, they tried to sink his campaign and thats a huge sign. White supremacists hate being caught in the middle of being an actual white supremacist. The goal is to HIDE their white supremacy.

A lot of these guys aren't focused on policy, they're focused on posturing it seems.

The talk of "creating our own" is just pornography at this point. They think they're going to become the black version of the jewish community. ...while ignoring the fact that the jewish community is heavily involved in politics AND economics. Both things matter.

@hashmander you nailed it.

Correct. I'm backing you up, but snidely telling posters to look into why the amendment passed despite Gillum's electoral outcome.

Another example would be Cory Booker's "opportunity accounts." It's targeted at helping poor kids and who happens to be disproportionately poor? It's not that it wouldn't help poor whites, but it would help blacks and other minorities.

Obviously, nothing will come of this, but it's worded in a way where bigots won't reflexively shoot it down (Republicans hate all poor people reflexively shoots it down).

:russ:@ this carefully laid white supremacist trap... we can persecute, exclude, oppress you specifically, but we cant pass any beneficial laws that benefit you specifically.

Where the negro faith in this system comes from, I'll never know.

So you only want white supremacists to participate in the same system....explain this gap in your rationale?

Op ain't wrong

He is right.

It is beyond illogical to assert that the entire country is an unrelenting bastion of white supremacy, while also relying on the expectation that one bright and sunny day, those same white supremacists are going to cut us a life-altering check for our historic pain and suffering.

Even the highly-practical direct survivors of American capture and slavery -- who actually petitioned the government for redress and lost cases in the 1890s - 1920s -- didn't think this way. After losing in the courts, they kept it moving and directed their energies to more realistic achievements.
