Kendrick Lamar is just got 11 Grammy noms doesn't Big Krit peak at #5 in the nation, are you telling me that there was more than max 1-2 aggressive cats poppin per year back then that moved units? First PE/Nwa/Cube in late 80s/early 90s and then Pac.

And you could say Meek, Schoolboy, Jeezy, Kevin Gates and them if you wanna mention cats like Rakim who weren't about that socially conscious shyt.

Plus if you want to look at cats like Krs one, you have to look at today's rappers who are peaking outside of top 40 just like BDP did I.e. Cats like Killer Mike, Vince Staples and on. But this is the coli, so let's keep it as commercial as Ryan Seacrests demographic and let's act like cats like Krs one were not underground.

Nothing you said here makes any sense. Damn near EVERYBODY who was making noise from about 86 to at least 96 had some form of aggression in their music. Hell even Kid n Play were aggressively dancing :manny: and no you didn't just put Meek Mills and Kevin Gates in the same sentence as Rakim :martin: you lucky I can't neg :pacspit: and how old are you because when Krs was popping damn near ALL Hip Hop was Underground so what exactly are you saying :what: you need to go wash your face, get some coffee and come back to the drawing board with that post :beli:

He is...:merchant: then I don't think that first song should have been how you introduced him to the masses cause with the delivery and video all I saw was an East Coast Chief Keef clone :yeshrug: and yeah Cole is cool. I didn't care too much for FDR but I thought the project before that was fire. He has some aggression to him. Sorta like a more laid back Nas :manny:

Your lack of comprehension is amazingly weak, if you're just throwing out rappers from the 80s and not just socially conscious ones we might as well say Migos, Fetty Wap, Young Thug, Lil Wayne, Asap Rocky or any Asap,

A lot of rappers have aggression in their music today as well, and KRS was hoping underground, not matter what hiphop was. If you look at the underground today you might find what you are looking for.

Lol @ some form of aggression, everyone has some form of aggression today as well in that case. Tell me a paper and I'll give you an aggressive track from him even one of the softest cat Drake has songs like back to back, "rolling through the 6 with my..", 0 to 100.

You old ass nikkas with your half ass memory and selective ass posts are amazing.
People like Nas and Jay-z are like the illest rappers of the 90s and they are not aggressive, the 90s had Devin, the 10s have Currensy, the 90s had Cube the 10s have Kendrick, the 90s had Redman the 10s have Danny Brownw and I can go the fukk on but I won't. Cause old cats are just like bytches, always complaining never doing anything about it. They won't even look at underground cats and yet they wanna complain about the state of hiphop when they know nothing about it except what they see through commercial venues. smh.

EVERYTHING that is put out there for mass consumption has the same cadence, message and beat. It sucks and their is no relevant messages in any of music we are being force fed. Makes me REALLY believe that the industry is actually working hand in hand with the Prison and Drug administrations.

If you believe music is that infuential, surely aggressive music is conducive to a more violent society?

Clown you do realize that's what the Corporations WANT us to do. They want to push poison and we sit back and settle. We need to do this

you think i don't know that? well i don't listen to radio, i listen to my older music but there are exceptions. there's also a handful of rappers who are making hip hop that is not for the radio for example

Cube
Game (just dropped a 2 disk album of pure gangsta rap)

Let me start here...you do know that I'm a Hip Hop artist, Producer, engineer, activist etc..right?? and I write hip hop based literature so your last statement doesn't fit me because I been putting artists on from detroit to dc to tennessee for over a decade. Plenty of folks on this very board know my work and history. And you need to reread your posts cause it's some parts that STILL don't make any sense. edit that shyt :beli:and if you don't think Jay or Nas have aggression in their music then you MUST be white :martin: they speak on the struggle. that's aggression. All those happy ass Drake tracks you listed he probably didn't even write. and you damn sure DON'T have anything been put out for mass consumption speaking on anythin other than shyt that's destroying the community. Your sir are a clown

Yell rap needs to make a comeback. Thought Meek was gonna bring it back but too much watch talk.

And when I mean by "yell rap, think Run DMC, Onyx, Busta, M.O.P.
