Ok
1) Bruno Mars is a cover artist regurigating past shyt .

2) The wave has passed. It was beautiful we had a good run stop trying to relive the past. The music we had was a reflection of the times. Times have changed.......not for the better IMO but I can chill because I saw better times and im grateful for that. Imagine not knowing Off the Wall Mike or Chaka or Whitney or Aretha or Kells or even Breezy. Imagine if youre 12 now just picking up music. Lets just be grateful we at least remember the time.

By the time I was 12, I was coming up on Mario, Ashanti, Jill Scott, Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Kelis, Mario Winans, Akon, Ciara, Destiny’s Child (slightly passed their prime), and peak Usher :wow:

Still sound lile that

I play Alina Baraz and i like some of her music but it still sound like boring ass teen girl department store background music and her voice sound weak as fukk:francis:

it’s a lot of reasons why uptempo r&b is non existent but imo, people got on that “too cool to dance” at the party type shyt.

now it’s on some looky loo shyt, nikkas posing and trying to be all cool instead of dancing and having fun. it wasn’t no thing to leave the party sweaty from dancing all night lol

as an artist, why even make those type of jams if everybody is just standing around looking at their phones all night?

Ironically, nikkas sewed the seeds with that back in the mid-90’s when nikkas were either too “gangsta” (West Coast) or too “hardcore” (East Coast) to dance.

On another note, I think nightclubs and dance lounges need to consider banning smartphones.

Kaytranada is great, this is a remix of a song from 2004 though. It’s a jam for sure
Tbh I ain’t even mean to send this shyt

but wat I will say to add to the convo, I think songs like the one in the OP are more considered Pop now. Even Usher was considered a pop star by late 00s, most upbeat RnB will fall under pop or EDM like the joint I sent
