I hate when I hear idiot fans say "they had to pay him" in regards to a mediocre qb.

I remember when the Bears paid Cutler. Fools was actin like it was a must:mjlol:
It's crazy how these teams are so desperate to keep/pay mediocre QBs. It never works out. Flacco, Eli, Stafford, Ryan, Dalton, Cutler, Smith, Cousins, soon to be Dak. These NFL teams are disgustingly conservative and afraid to take any chances or move on.

Lowkey...

Both would have benefitted from staying in college another year and going to the Rams/Eagles. (Assuming their draft grades were really higher than Wentz/Goff)

If they stayed in school the whole landscape of the 2015 season would have been different, so who knows if the Rams and Eagles would have moved into the No.1 and No.2 pick areas

Word. McVay is pegged as a offensive guru. Why feel the need to handcuff your team's salary cap with a QB like Goff? They could still have him on a 5th year option and have more money available for other talent right now.

Wentz and Goff were the number one and two picks overall.

Goff been to the superbowl and Wentz was almost MVP if it wasnt for an unfortunate injury.

What has Dak and Watson done ?

And To be honest, it was the Kirk Cousins deal that inflated the market.:manny:

Dak's numbers are better than Wentz across the board AND he wins more games head to head...

Wentz is the number 1 reason why Dak is asking for the money he is

Watson got "overpaid" because of where Mahomes took it ($50m aav), Wentz & Goff deals had nothing to do with it.

Biggest blunder from any team in the league was Dallas allowing Wentz & Goff, who both had 5th year options, to get extended before Dak. Could've easily had Dak at $30m aav prior to those deals and they blew it.
They didn't want to do it because it was an overpay, now look at it, lol. They will have to pay 40+ million. Idiots.

Everything you said here was beyond false...

Dak was NEVER signing any type of contract until after Wentz got his deal because his agents was always going to go and ask the cowboys for more than Wentz, since Dak has better numbers AND a better head to head record, and actually won a playoff game while Wentz was on the sideline watching Foles do it...

There was no way Dak was every signing anything before Wentz got his deal, and once Wentz got 32 there was no way Dak was taking less than that...

Wentz & Goff had 5th year options, Dak had a routine 4 year contract. Dak and his agent couldn't just sit back and wait on those two to get extended, Dak was scheduled to hit free agency a year before either of them (same reason Russell Wilson signed his first extension a year earlier than Luck). If Dallas came to him in summer 2019 offering that $30m he would've taken it and ran.

Instead they sat on their hands, the Rams & Eagles both got their deals done a year earlier than required, that pushed the number past $32/33m, and we landed here with him currently on the tag and Dallas staring at a $40m-$45m clip once they do finally extend him. The Jones family botched it from every angle.

Sure they could, because 1st round Qb's tend to get there extensions done in year 4, if the team plans to keep them. Typically if the player is actually playing under that 5th year without already having an extension he is not going to get one, like Jameis and Marcus didn't. So with this being typical common knowledge I am sure Dak's agent was well aware that the Qb's who were drafted 1 and 2, one who went to a superbowl and the other who was playing at an MVP level, the only time he wasn't trash by the way, and was on a super bowl winning team, were going to get deals done in their 4th year.

The cowboys didn't sit on their hands. They offered Dak multiple contracts. He just said no to all of them.

Dak was never taken this imaginary 30 million. He makes millions of dollars in endorsements. Him and his agent have said multiple time they feel no need to rush into a deal they don't want because wit hall the endorsement money Dak makes, it's not like he is starving.
