Good music is out there, it's just that you gotta go looking for it. :manny:

If you like Hard Rock/Punk, check for Screaming Females and Radkey (ADOS punk band from Missouri).

I saw both of the above bands listed live, and I recommend seeing them in person(especially Screaming Females).

90s nostalgia started in the mid 00s

lol at 2010s
I don’t remember nobody giving a fukk about the 90’s like that it was one of the most unique/original eras but hey

If anything there was more 80’s nostalgia

If one thinks that music in an era is good because the radio aligns with the critics your rationale is fundamentally flawed and you’re honestly a fool

a horrible premise for an argument

Also their argument is hyper focused on white music, so y’all been like yup he’s right are really just vibing with cac talking points and tastes :mjpls:

And also the radio is growing evermore irrelevant, so the argument is less and less relevant every year

In the era of streaming, people can listen to whatever they want and are not bound by the desires of disc jockeys

maybe y’all are just sheep and incapable of actually exploring and finding good music tho

a horrible premise for an argument

Not really.. what's popular is funded and what's not isn't. Yeah yeah "you gotta search around for what's good" i've heard the argument and it's dumb because those artists struggle and then half of them try to conform to what's popular..

Never ending cycle of meh.... that's why we got standard trap beats for 10+ years

Don't know where you got those names from, but I stand by my point. There's more diversity in creative expression within mainstream hip hop than in those days.

Nah..... It's not as bad as people are making it, but not really comparable to that era as far as diversity/creativity is concerned.....

However, the current generation is severely limited because it only appears to prefer "Hip Hop" (whatever that means in 2021...).

Previous eras were much more diverse in our overall music appreciations.

Exploring to find good music is cool but I just hate how all these good artists are damn near unknown while certain artists(or wackier artists) still get the push. I shouldn’t have to put people on to artists with a whole career worth of work out here. Most of the good music is barely heard on the radio which ain’t as dead as people claim it is. I like to imagine what it would be like back in the day if we had to “put people on” to Jodeci, SWV, Naughty By Nature, etc. I appreciate streaming for giving me most of the currebt artists that I listen to.. people I know don’t care about them artists until they get that co sign though which is sad.

Damn:wow:

people clown shyt like this or the radio, but it definitely helped these artists. That’s why I laugh because these fools look at social media and think they’re the shyt until they start touring. You the man like in New York or Atlanta and shyt.. same artist is lucky to pack the Filmore in Charlotte. Damn I miss Jet magazine. I lived for them charts there and jet beauty of the week
