Ignore Dems messaging for a second....

What were people expecting when they voted for Trump? I don't mean the hardcore nazis, just the regular Joe's.

Are they getting what they want in terms of jobs, the economy etc?

I think the conversation around Dems is important but tends to obscure that the GOP has not delivered for 99% of their voters...not at all since 1980. The elite voting for him makes sense but everyone else including the hardcore racists are losing every time the GOP wins.

What makes them blindly loyal to failure from the GOP.....yet makes everyone willing to (CORRECTLY) hold Democrats accountable for their fukk ups?

Seems like our biggest issue is we expect Democrats to govern but pick Republicans based on feels....and then only vote for the Dems again after the GOP fukks everything up. Then we want Dems to be more progressive and focus on economics......but then the Dems have to spend half their terms fixing the mess Republicans made......

Then we get mad at Dems for not doing enough and vote GOP again.
currently he is giving them the perpetual round up of undocumented people with an ever expanding agency that is low key a jobs program for unemployed bullies. immigration has been a major issue for decades and he is doing the most bombastic policy to impress his base with it. even negative stories on the news about immigrants crying, being separated from family, or even dying during arrest just shows his base that he is serious on one of their core issues.

Great question

The answer?

Republicans give consistent, simple messaging and "solutions" because they understand their base is a) stupid and b) runs on fear and emotions

Democrats dont consistently do this. They expect voters to "get it" and make the right choice.

And guess what?

That works for most of the electorate....

But not for the swing states.

You need a clear message to tilt those swing states.

And as the dude I replied to pointed out, the dems didn't do that

> Hilary barely campaigned there
> And Kamala kept on talking about abortion.

You are right. Its disappointing that Republicans can fukk the economy and do jack fukk all meanwhile the democrats have to be perfect.

But thats how it is. Dems gotta improve the messaging and dumb it down

The only thing people really expect of Republicans is for them to hurt people they don't like (generally anyone that isn't a WASP).

So they're more than happy to support Republicans who have harmful policies as long they feel the policies are hurting somebody else more than them.

Why is lgptq considered progressive, I think that’s a mistake to allow people to claim sexual preferences progressive cause it’s not

In the grand scheme of things dems aim progressive towards shyt, if they were it would be more support for progressive shyt

The dems need to stop all this far left talk they let people put on they jackets

Honestly all this far left talk is bullshyt and you a problem if you spewing that rhetoric

No one can tell me how dems is supposedly far left
because the average american voter is just looking at all this shyt with an extremely shallow understanding. it's not about deep policy proposals, it's about easy to digest slogans, and image. Trump talks like a fukkin 5th grader

people look at republicans, and hear "jobs" "lower gas prices" "business" "secure border". they look at democrats, and see a bunch of people defending weird fakkitry, and letting illegals pour over the border, and overpromising a bunch of free shyt that no one really believes they can pay for :dead:

i mean seriously. how the hell are the Democrats gonna pay for free healthcare for everyone, and be the party of open borders at the same time? every single prosperous free healthcare country on the planet, has Trump-level border enforcement :mjlol:

This question exposes a possible blind spot on the left...the assumption that voters who supported Trump were voting for him, rather than against something else. It’s funny, considering how widely accepted it was that many on the left were voting against Trump, not necessarily for Harris, hence slogans like “blue no matter who.”

The desire to throw everyone not in step with the left in the maga box is strong (especially online) ... so i kinda get it:manny:

Powerful call out. This is 100% a blind spot for Dems.

Who could possibly not want their LGBT rhetoric/trans kids policies, open borders. Not to mention the appearnce they are soft on crime,Along with being "woke" politics. Plus you had the red pill movement thats anti woman/feminist

These were all hot button issues all over social media for a few years leading up to the election. What did the Democrats do? Stood on their square and leaned right into all of these things people were clearly frustrated about or didnt like.

And am i saying Democrats should just cater to the bigots, racist, sexist?

No,not at all. What im saying is the spokesman, rhetoric and ideologies the left have for the LGBT are absolutely insane and nonsensical. The spokesmen for immigration on the left are downright disrespectful and unreasonable. The spokeswomen for women and womens rights are annoying and unbearable. The spokemen for black people on the left obnoxious, unrelenting and out of touch. Which would be nice for us if they went so hard with tangible ideas and black specefic policies. But usually its just them going hard at black people, fear mongering, and waving pom poms/copping pleas for the Democrats.

What Dems needed were spokesman who made the bigots, racist and sexist look and feel silly to everyone watching. Instead because they are so insane, the crazy people on the right seem reasonable. At least on most of the issues they made it a point to focus on:respect:

Here is the conundrum for Democrats - they are trying to build a progressive society in a diverse country. The more diverse the country becomes the harder it will be to agree on progressive ideas.

Working together for the greater good typically ends when race is involved.

If blacks had their own nation within the U.S. we’d be a lot better off. At this point I am much more in favor of that than voting for a so-called Democrat.

what’s progressive about being soft on crime, allowing illegal immigration, letting men in women's sports and spaces, and making it harder to build more housing?
I mentioned absolutely none of this in my post. I'm trying to be as amicable as possible but your tirade on gender identity is concerning. In line with my initial post, only stupid people care about what others identify themselves as because it doesn't affect them. It's a, "Uhhh.. okay?" type of thing that you step around and go about your day.

There are literally less than 50 transgender people in sports. 1% to 2% of our population is transgender. Who the fukk cares other than dumb asses. That's like caring about furries, or people that have surgically split tongues.

Soft on crime is a complete lie. The law operates as normal during tenure of both parties. It is mostly handled locally, so any extreme that you find occurs during the reign of both parties.

The only complete fork in the road concerning illegal immigration occurred during this presidential run of Trump, due to the over funding of ICE and his dismissal of due process which is arguably the most racist and xenophobic 'policy' of his. It's a dog whistle to his dumb ass base, who believe in the rhetoric of finding others to blame for their own shytty situations. Truth is, immigrants commit crimes at lower rates per capita than natural born citizens. Also, they impact our economy positively because they pay taxes without receiving many of the benefits/social services that we get.

Both parties have failed to address income inequality, which helps housing because more people would be able to afford it. So if you blame democrats for it, then blame republicans for it too.
