they won the popular vote in 2016 and the election in 2020 :heh:

presidents almost always cycle between republican and democrat

One major difference, they had black people on their side in 2020. Using our influence to convince other demographics to vote Dem and get Trump outta there. Name the last time Dema lost when black folks loved the candidate and were engaged, ill wait. Nobody can seem to answer this question. But Dems continue to take away the wrong lessons:respect:#TheKey

Gang violence...
this is ridiculous. they are moving to the right and losing because the republicans will always be better right wingers than them. the only thing that is left wing about them is the symbolic stuff. they gas up trans people without even doing anything material for them. there is no nationwide trans policy that dems overreached on. this poll is what centrists want to be able to say so they can do what some donor told them to do with a clear conscience

In reality it's that voters have become more stupid.

This article suggests that the only change happening is amongst the politicians themselves, when in all actuality - voters are becoming more and more idiotic, susceptible to false promises, xenophobic, and prone to living vicariously through their chosen political avatar.

Democrats going further left is what is supposed to happen - otherwise it's maintaining the status quo. We are supposed to PROGRESS as a nation, socially, economically and ideologically. If we stay stagnant, then that's when it feels like nothing is being done (I.E. Joe Biden), when he actually did great considering the most important metrics to measure a country.

Blaming the politicians for going deeper into their 'bag' is not the answer. The lack of addressing the brain rot of society at large, the tendency of algorithms to ensnare young voters and reinforce the older dumbfukks, the simple messaging of the Republican party and the economic angst growing within our citizens due to income inequality is more apt than what I read in the first post.

If the income inequality issue singularly was fixed or on the right track while Biden was in power, democrats would've won the last election.

But on this, I'd blame the voters still for picking a corporate Democrat instead of someone like Bernie Sanders or Marianne Williamson (albeit a very low chance of winning). Voters are dumb and often vote against their own self interest due to fear, insecurity, anger, ignorance, jealousy and envy.
Facts.

The American Left would be considered centrist/slightly right of center anywhere else.

The GOP moved much further to the right...making Dems seem radical when they're not.

Anyone that watches the Mehdi Hasan vs 20 Far Righters would recognize that conservatives have gotten dumber while liberals have gotten smarter, hence the massive divide.

I think Once the manufacturing sector received its final death blow during and after the 2008 financial crisis, is when we began to see even more of a shift to the right.

Once those jobs and their unions left, most of those white guys in traditionally blue states like Michigan and Pennsylvania sought refuge on the conservative side since they identify that way socially. They probably figured that there's no reason to vote democrat since the unions are gone.
The right wing populist (i.e. J.D. vance steve bannon) pretty much pounced on that opportunity and haven't looked back. Not to mention all those folks leaving heavy democrat strongholds like NY, California, Illinois, New Jersey, and Massachusetts to Southern states that vote Republican.

Like others here said, the democrats completely dropped the ball by not courting the progressive wing of the party and taking the centrist approach. I mean, in some ways I get it, because Hillary raised a lot of money and Bearnie was technically an independent. But after 2016, it was pretty obvious where the zeitgeist of the country was headed to.

what’s progressive about being soft on crime, allowing illegal immigration, letting men in women's sports and spaces, and making it harder to build more housing?

This is the part people don't want to acknowledge.

People, especially nowadays, use their voting power to hurt, inflict suffering, and hardships on other people, not because they care about what's best for the country, but rather by using their votes as a weapon against those they despise.

I mentioned way back before the election that we'd learn where the country was headed...

I have no qualms about this election because I'm not oblivious to the reality of what America truly is underneath the cape. We like to believe that things, specifically people in this country, are overwhelmingly morally righteous and want everything or everyone to be rid of negativity, corruption, and hate, among other things. Still, the truth is that it's the opposite.

If you're worried, it's because you know as much as I do that America is not a country known for being morally righteous, and you realize people aren't interested in doing the right thing, but rather the things that satisfy their self-interests, which more often than not, tend to be amoral at the expense of others. We often say, “God Bless America,” but the truth is that God isn't here today, because if He were, we wouldn't be in this predicament.
America lacks a conscience, and evil, not in the supernatural sense but rather things (racism, bigotry, hate, etc) considered amoral, triumphs over everything good (unity, peace, love, etc) in this country.

This election is somewhat of a battle of Good (Kamala) versus Evil (Trump). Again, not in the supernatural sense but rather where the country is headed in terms of morale. Never mind the political/policy aspect; instead, the main focus is the moral state of Americans.

There are two paths, one of which will lead America down the road of peace, positivity, prosperity, and hope for the future. The other will lead us down a dark path of hopelessness, hate, and everlasting tension where many who are disenfranchised will suffer.

Democrats lost due to white supremacy and tribalism, yea u got some people who voted on policies but u got way more who voted to preserve their way of life. “Equality seems like oppression to those accustomed to privilege..”

We need to kill the myth that it was about policy, because what economic policy did Trump run on?..or healthcare policy did he run off of??? Trump just ran off of white nationalism..

It was never about policy…

Not reading all of that shyt

Democrats need to go back to the drawing board and remodel their social media campaign. Dems underestimed how many Americans are addicted to social media and this is where republicans pumped so much propaganda based on rage and racism.

Most of Americans are stupid and you need to know how to talk to stupid people to send your message. This isn't pre-social media boom years like Obama 08. Americans are much dumber now than nearly 20 years ago.

easily the best political chess move i've ever seen

these idiots like AOC are always yelling at us to open the border, and then new york can't even handle 4 or 5 busloads without begging for money, proving that these people who just show up at the border are a massive burden? so fukking embarrassing :snoop:

Even a broken clock is right twice a day and Abbott was doing the good lords work sending them to all the blue cities like that. People here in Texas been saying for the longest we are sick and tired of dealing with them and the democrats kept the border open and let them come over here in droves. Y'all want them here so bad deal with them then, it aint easy dealing with a bunch of people sucking up housing, crowding up emergency rooms, taking jobs, etc. Democrats got exactly what they deserved on that one. Send these people the fukk back home we have enough problems to deal with already without having to add theirs on top of them.

Honestly, we're in the worst case scenario and we're still here.

Time to stand ten toes down. We want reparations (or some version of it) or they don't get our vote.

Democrats are just trying to run on "we're not Trump" BS. Ya'll aren't Trump but you're not looking too much better.
