I’m thankful that o make enough now to have more than one place to put money. I was not in the position to ball out on vacations and shyt when I was younger. People be laughing and clowning folks for not going far for vacations, but they mmm people end up looking the best. You’re spending all your money just to fly to another country to stung for the gram.. You can do that here in America for cheaper lol. Have money to put to the dude and don’t do it so big for vacations.

I agree with this except about it being expensive going overseas. It really don't cost all that much more unless you're vacationing in the states somewhere you can drive to.

I'm in the middle with this thread. I put a little money aside each year for traveling and other experiences. I live with the mindset that any day I could have a heart attack or stroke and I don't want to look back sad about all the experiences I missed out on. But I'm also big on saving to try and retire way before 65 or later.

It's funny, I saw an article recently about how much it'll take to comfortable live in Los Angeles purely on your own. They said $75k is on the borderline of accomplishing that. If you penny-pinch on $75k you may be alright.

However, that's $75k after taxes. If you make $100k salary, after Cali and federal tax hits you're under $70k. That's before you can even spend a dime.

If you think taking that $75k job will hold you down when you move to Cali, you'll find out you make about $20k less than that $75k you heard was recommended. Now you got a slightly above average salary, but you're down bad while everyone is looking at you like you're wasteful so they give you no benefit of the doubt.

That was also before overall rent skyrocketed.

I'm born and raised here, but I remember when I first started living on my own out here it really hit me how much they price gouge in taxes and expenses. Being from here also means I have a support system out here with resources like family and that was critical.

Living in LA is getting crazy. I remember my first place, it was just the deposit and 1st months rent and now they are asking for deposit and 1st and last months rent. So now trying to move into an apt, you need 6k, also a lot of these apartments you have to pay all utilities.

I have a good ammount of money saved, but what helped me save was investing in the stock market.
