Why mention Los Angeles when there are 100+ other cities that are 1/20 the price of Los Angeles that people can live in and raise their families in?
News flash, the most famous and sought after place will always be the most expensive. It was that way 70 years ago and will always be that way in 2023 and beyond
It wasn't so much that, it was additionally about the fact that state taxes are bad and it's not only California.

All this tax money spent and those potholes I see aren't getting fixed as these roads are outright horrible. California is easy to point out as it's 5th largest economy in the world, but the tax money ain't being reinvested back into the city nor state from my perspective.

So people who live in these states are dropping big money off the top of their paychecks for state taxes which makes their money stretch even more thin.

Plus some fields like electrical engineering are basically limited to California, Texas or Asia for the most opportunities west of the Mississippi. 20 years ago the EE field was booming, now only some pockets around the nation and only pockets around some states, like Southern California hold the most opportunities. A lot of people for their fields simply don't got the choice - and that will mess with many people's financial plans. Other fields like Software Engineering are tough to beat Cali in terms of job prospects and career growth and networking potential.

My thing is that people thst do all this stunting online now are gonna be super in debt and if enough people do it the government gonna have to step in to save them. So it's gonna be a situation where the people that were saving during that time are going to be bailling out folks that were flexing in their youth on some too big to fail mess :francis:

Ain’t gonna happen

And if it did, the Government allowed all this fukkery to happen anyway :unimpressed:

FACTS

NYC hits you with an extra 4% just for living in the 5 boroughs...

Nobody can tell you what that goes to, the tax payer never sees the benefits of it...

This is why everyone with family in LI claims they live with them and files taxes their...

i see people posting brunch on weekends, even on weekdays then traveling somewhere new every week. then they buy new clothes to flex on IG while being 40k+ in debt. idk bro it annoys me a little but it’s not my business though

it makes me feel like im missing out on my entire 20s having no exposure living in a cave while nikkas is flexing on me and bytches thinking they’re better than me but at least im not blowing bread like crazy.

ive been able to have financial discipline by accident just from barely being able to do shyt as a youth. blowing money to me is spending $250+ on some kicks every pay period then im satisfied.
Wait til you reach your 40s, in mid-career and potentially reaching your income peak...:wow:

No judgment but I have friends who STILL "flex" and have no money set aside for a rainy retirement. :wow:

I've learned over time that self-discipline, focus and sacrifice are needed to have a hold of one's finances. My 1st job paid me 1/6 of my current salary and, to some degree, I still live/act/spend money as if i still make my 1st job's income.

You need a balance.

Why save all this money, when you can die tommorrow? And all that staying at home saving money for years you’ll look back & see all you did was “save”.

Not to mention inflation means your balance won’t even amount to much anymore.
So YOLO:yeshrug:

YOU CAN ALWAYS MAKE
MORE MONEY.

YOU CAN NEVER GET YOUR

Do both. I see a lot of self defeatist attitude. Being paid a lot / having a lot of resources is desired by a lot of people, so you’re going to have to plan, strategize and compete for that.

People think they SHOULD be paid a certain amount, that’s just an unrealistic reality. Remember when someone is actually paying you, they’re taking food out of their mouth, their wife’s mouth, and children’s mouth, to do it. They’re trying to provide the absolute best for their family, just as you are. Remember that, and you’re going to have to bully, you’re going to have to fight, you’re going to have to take resources, not ask for it nicely. I don’t know why people see a big corporation and think, just a faceless soulless entity. People are behind that. And you’re a stranger to them. Imagine you donating your extra expendable income to a faceless stranger so they can have a similar or better lifestyle. You wouldn’t, because you don’t now.
:comeon: You really need to educate yourself on the subject.

Additionally, yes salaries over time have increased.

However, like the market, it don't ALWAYS go up.

There are some downturns that hit hard (like right now) and people have to spend their resources and saved money to weather the storm.

It's like Physics - yes there's a long term average, but many times the action and clear picture really happens during the short/instantaneous spans of time.

Then like others mentioned, don't get sick during that time, don't have major financial setbacks because :wow: there goes everything you've been saving for the last 15 years, gone in a tough job market and unfortunate timing.

But hey, everything rebounds over the long term: just save up and penny pinch again like you did from age 35 to 50 - you're only 56 years old!

I hope you are young. Because if you are older, this post is very, very sad.

Let’s see, by any means necessary, make sure your family and yourself are fed right. Having your hand out expecting the next man to treat you fairly out of the kindness of his heart is mostly a fruitless endeavor. Where am I off? Because that’s exactly what I’m saying.
