It wasn't so much that, it was additionally about the fact that state taxes are bad and it's not only California.Another post with Shock value for daps
Why mention Los Angeles when there are 100+ other cities that are 1/20 the price of Los Angeles that people can live in and raise their families in?
News flash, the most famous and sought after place will always be the most expensive. It was that way 70 years ago and will always be that way in 2023 and beyond
All this tax money spent and those potholes I see aren't getting fixed as these roads are outright horrible. California is easy to point out as it's 5th largest economy in the world, but the tax money ain't being reinvested back into the city nor state from my perspective.
So people who live in these states are dropping big money off the top of their paychecks for state taxes which makes their money stretch even more thin.
Plus some fields like electrical engineering are basically limited to California, Texas or Asia for the most opportunities west of the Mississippi. 20 years ago the EE field was booming, now only some pockets around the nation and only pockets around some states, like Southern California hold the most opportunities. A lot of people for their fields simply don't got the choice - and that will mess with many people's financial plans. Other fields like Software Engineering are tough to beat Cali in terms of job prospects and career growth and networking potential.
