Nevada's K-12 education system is ranked bottom-5 in the country.

Their health care system is ranked bottom-10, including the 3rd worst in the nation for # of doctors per resident.

They have one of the most regressive tax codes of any state, with the poor being taxed far more of their income than anyone else.

High unemployment, low wages, and a poor social safety net.

Relatively high violent crime rate.

And their current governor is a cop, former soldier, and a Republican.

Being outwardly anti-intellectual and outwardly against bodily autonomy for 50% of the population was/is going to have ramifications on where your most educated citizens decide to reside.
