Exactly, the man may not be the most prolific scorer on a team during his championship runs with the lakers but he obviously had a strong locker room presence, he's a great veteran leader for a young OKC squad who obviously got the talents to win it all, they just need the veteran leadership

Derek Fisher's signing with the Oklahoma City Thunder this week didn't come as a surprise to the Mavericks.

Fisher cited the desire to spend time with his family as his reason for leaving Dallas in late December after starting nine games for the Mavs. However, the suspicion all along among the temporary teammates that the five-time NBA champion left behind was that he would join a contender later the season.

"It wasn't a big surprise," one Mavs veteran said. "We expected him to end up with the Lakers or OKC."

Added another Dallas veteran, while rolling his eyes: "Good for him. Good for him."
