I swear to God I hear him saying this exact shyt with all the contrarianism his body language can muster . When Van called him out on his shyt and made it so clear how ridiculous he was being was one of my favorite moments. When this nikka said "If it was called X-Men of Tsushima yo ass would be glazing the fukk out of it" or something to that effect. Just calling out his hypocrisy on dikk sucking anything anime, while shytting on anything comic related as sub standard and ridiculous. That shyt was spot on, and I fukk wit some anime.

I think Van was doing too much on that question about Disney doing episode dumps for Ecko/Ironheart. That shyt Van ranted about really didnt even answer the question. I also disagree that we have to support something even if it's trash/bad quality. He's always had that pov/thought for years of "why cant black ppl just put out mediocre shyt". Upholding and championing trash shyt makes us look wild.

Disney is still wrong for doing the episode dumps, that tells most ppl that follow that type of shyt that they have no faith in the project.

I actually get exactly what he was saying and agree to some extent. White folks shyt is allowed to be mediocre or even bad and they'll still get another shot. Us, not so much. There are so many white folks that won't support a show strictly off the strength of a role being played by somebody black, or a woman, even if the race of that role plays no factor in the characters overall identity or story. And then the powers that be use that shyt as a reason not to give us another opportunity or limit budgets and roles. And in turn even the excellent quality stuff that may be out there gets less of chance of happening.

Now to me this doesn't mean that I'm gonna run to watch every show or movies with any significant black role or behind the camera position, but I do try to give movies and shows a shot that are in my wheelhouse of general interest when we have prominent involvement, and I give them more grace than I probably would some other shyt, cause I know there's some punk ass CAC sitting somewhere else in the country that won't even give a hint of consideration to turning on this show just cause there's a black face in the thumbnail.

It's why I went to the theater to check out shyt like Kin, Sleight, or Sorry to Bother You. These weren't good to great movies (Sorry was almost there until that trippy 3rd act) but I'd like to give them a chance because I know for damn sure somebody else's isn't. And I don't consider that as championing some trash.

I could see how some would think that. I was expecting it to be but I surprisingly liked it after a bit of a rough start.

Van is arguing that you should go out and watch every show and movie no matter how bad it is, because it has black people attached to it. Van's rant didnt even answer the dude's question, which is why is Disney dumping the shyt like they dont give a fukk about it. It seemed like Van took the question and shifted blame to the black audience, which is lame. If the product is bad/mediocre, aint shyt the audience can do about it, especially the black fandom inside of comic book movie audience. If the shyt trash it aint like we can get our more casual people to fukk with it.

I think some of this goes back to what Wallo said in that leaked vid, which I agree with him on some of it. The part I agree with him on is, you gotta have more going for you other than "Im black/black people involved". The arrogant shyt he said at the end was trash. Like you, I'll give a person an opportunity because they are black, but that's only gonna be once if the service/food/quality is bad.

I get and agree with the point that black creatives should be allowed to be mediocre and get another shot(I think Frames Per Second, specifically Kinge/Myke have this sentiment as well), but the black audience isnt to blame for that, that's on the higherups behind the scenes.
