These stats ignore not having a 40,000 to 100,000 debt chain around your neck and foregoing 4 years of work experience. College can be worth it, but you better seriously do a cost benefit analysis, because you can also potentially be better off by not going.
as long as your stats are keeping tabs we should be good :smugbiden:

But Jigger didn't go to college :krs:
I know my professional life would be much different without my degree (for the worse). That shyt is for life and nobody can take it from you.
The anti-college folks tend to be flunkies or people with worthless degrees (with high debts). No surprise there.
When they get sick, I wonder if they see non-college educated doctors :mjpls:

The sad thing is a lot of employers don't give a shyt what kind of degree you have, they will still hire a nikka with degree in music over someone with 10 years experience in the actually field they're hiring for. :rudy:

As a first gen non-african black STEM college grad, going to a state school won't put you in ridiculous amounts of debt as long as you stay on track with graduating. There a lot of grants and scholarships if you are low income along with work study programs. Also if you do take loans, as long as you're not going to a private school, the loans will usually never be that huge of an issue. If you want to save even more money, you can always transfer from a community college. I know a couple of people who went two years for their associates and then transferred to a great state school saving a ton of money.
:salute:

I find the loan scare to be blown out of proportion by people who went to 40K a year private liberal arts colleges and those who choose useless majors. (i.e. Dumb CACs) Don't spend 60K a year for a Harvard education to major in interpretive dance while taking 7 years to graduate. That's just basic common sense.

Also don't waste your money at a for-profit diploma mill school. They often face accreditation issues and they are extremely expensive. With those you literally are buying a sheet of paper called a diploma. It won't be worth jack shyt to you either in the job market.

I recommend more non-african blacks to attend college. I'm not shyting on black people who choose to go a more technical route but a 14% college degree rate is bad for black people and we need stronger numbers so we can generate stronger support and really help each other out. We shouldn't be struggling as much as white people. I was one of the only non-african black guys in a lot of my science courses and it was usually always a black female if there was any other non-african black.:ld:

Don't be as dumb as these nikkas here

Unless you are in a sort of high paying professional school, do not take on loads of unnecessary debt. Even then, spend a year or two when your first big gig comes paying off your debt as soon as possible. Living frugal for two or three years to pay off debt will save you a ton of money in the long run and will free up the paycheck much sooner.

Most college grads have nowhere near that much debt, and its rare that a kid out of high school can jump immediately into a job that will net them great experience. I.e. working retail is not experience worth passing up a college education for.

Im nitpicking though, overall I agree.

Truthfully I wish kids could take a year or two off to find their feet and figure out what they want to do. Once you enroll the clock starts and time is money. Better to delay and go in with a plan than to rush in and not know what you're doing./

The key is to pay as little as possible for post-secondary education. Most major cities have a dual enrollment high school that allows students to earn 2 years of college credit. There are a few high schools that will lead to a free 4-year college degree. This family will graduate three teens from Florida Atlantic University for free.

If your child scores in the top 95th percentile on standardized tests, they should consider attending a college with a large endowment because they have the most generous financial aid (no loans). Twenty-two schools hold half of the US endowment wealth.

Be sure to take 15-18 hours a semester to graduate on time or even early. Fewer colleges are accepting placement tests but most will still allow you to test out of courses and get credit with AP and CLEP exams, which can save you thousands.

:childplease: Most jobs for people with only high school diploma pay like a couple bucks above minimum wage with no benefits when a one bedroom apt in my city costs 700-800 a month in a decent neighborhood or around 500 in the hood, AND this student loan crisis is blown way out of proportion by hipster cacs who go to uberexpensive private schools to study useless ass majors.

Technically that is correct. The US has about twice as many whites as all other minorities combined, so whites will skew the data. However, I did a quick search and I cannot find anything that would suggest mostly whites are drowning in student loans.
