Does it really matter?
did not Trump prove in 2016 that you can win without winning the dash for cash contest?
what trump did will probably never be repeated. helped bigly that hillary was damaged goods. trump was a master manipulator and used his fame / social media presence in a way traditional politicians never could. plus the value of russian interference (hacking dnc, releasing info via wikileaks, spamming vulnerable districts with fake info and propaganda during the election) was probably worth millions that can never be quantified. not to mention comey's last minute elbow to the neck of the clinton campaign when he announced they were still investigating her.
Didn't a Republican just win for congress even though being outspent 7 to 1?
no matter how much they spent that was a long shot. the fact they were able to close the gap in a bloody red district they never would have even thought about wasting the effort in previously was interesting though.
not to mention trump is still campaigning and raising money. anytime something happens, a cop shoots a black man, a minority is accused of damn near anything, obama is shown wearing a hat even though he's no longer in office, or some wackjob shoots a congressman...conservatives will throw money at the gop to show their allegiance.
we'll see how much this money gap matters when the trump empire falls, the gop fukks up healthcare, and when people go to file their taxes next year.
