Be Cool from 2005 is probably the only time The Rock has played a Black man on film

He acknowledged being black in Ballers. Well, his costar said he was black and mixed with something else he didn't know.

But I agree, he likes being racially ambiguous.

Him and Mark Kerr are good friends. Also The Rock talked about if he didn't get into Wrestling Entertainment he may have went the MMA route.

20+ years in the game with no classics.. :manny:
True
but This would give him 1 critically acclaimed movie. and 1 high selling franchise in Jumanji. (the two sequels grossed over 2 billion)
Not as much at you would hope to get after 20+ year run, but enough to say you had a decent run.

Bautista>>>>....

It’s not so much that he’s a bad actor, it’s that he’s taken the same kind of repetitive roles with zero range over and over and people got sick of it. Someone like Bautista has tried to challenge himself and so he gets more respect.

Bautista is a dramatic Chris Farley.

He can only do the "im a big guy doing little guy things" so much. Which is why he dropped weight. It was only funny maybe once to see a big guy wear a little coat or tight pants, or 'the big tough guy's actually be sensitive or whatever.

He needs to make a choice whether he wants to be a movie star or an actor. Which are two different things. If he wants to be an actor, he needs to start doing plays. If he wants to be a movie star then he has to play the game.

The rock is obviously the bigger movie star.

Bautista just take himself more seriously and chooses more serious roles. He's not as charismatic as the rock imo.
Plus he seems to be better suited in supporting roles. No movie is doing 900mil with him as the primary lead

I'm not looking for The Rock comin' outta kayfabe and Vince McMahon promos to change his skillset as an actor. The Rock will never be a stage actor that went to the big screen and made it, he came outta theatrical late-night smash TV. His roles helped him grow as an actor and he brings something different to his roles. This looks like a good one that incorporates his roots and journey in Hollywood.

:manny::manny::manny:
I'd like to see him in the John Wick-type universe givin' one-liners, doin' Rock Bottoms and People's Elbows 'cause the shyt would be meta, comical mindless action scenes - especially as long takes.

Let's not act like The Rock is destined for an Oscar. His run in Hollywood is respectable considering where he came from.
