My Pops Forever RIP
I wonder why creative owners haven’t circumvented stuff like this. Like if the Arabs start liking basketball, they’d get someone to take a pay cut and give them an endorsement gig with Emirates or Qatar airways to make up for the salary shortfall.

Is that illegal according to the cba?
Endorsements don’t make up for what you lost.

I was hoping the new media deal would trigger a renegotiation at least. The CBA is a joke that will hurt players pockets.

nobody fukked over the warriors lol

like maybe if wiseman turned into an all-nba player, kuminga was due for a max, klay never got hurt, and everyone stopped aging sure :dead: then the hypothetical would work
I’m referring to the resentment the other owners had towards lacob/warriors for ignoring being taxed. This put pressure on them to do the same thing which they really disliked because it fuked with their bottom line which is making money not winning championships

Unbothered

See ya in about a month. #signingoff ✌🏾.

Well, see the league created this second apron to enforce parity as a way to prevent teams from dominating for an extended period.

This is how the league keeps things fresh, meaning the days of single teams dominating the league for 3+ seasons are over. There's gonna be more variety in terms of winners and losers.

Remember the days of when teams like the early 00s Lakers, 90s Bulls, '15-'19 era Warriors, Celtics of recent, big 3 era Heat, Spurs of the 2010s, etc, had their runs, eating up the league? Well, that's coming to an end. Now you're gonna see a team be dominant for 2-3 years, maybe just a year like the 2023 Nuggets, for example, before they hit a slide due to the financial implications of the apron rules.

sounds like a good idea but when the teams dominating are from small markets you're defiantly shooting yourself in the foot

Im fine with it just need to be adjusted a bit, maybe not as strict like losing your picks because you're in it. It promotes proper team building and gming.
By punishing it? The pre max system was the best and most fair you could be with a cap and actually did what you said...and the owners hated it :russ:

They should give teams an amnesty clause for sure, maybe one every 3 years or something

Somethiny like the supermax part of the extension not count towards the cap would be okay too. Maybe just 1 idk

Ive always liked the idea of gifting homegrown teams, homegrown players should only count 50% of the cap, that would make fa a whole lot more interesting
