Y’all nikkas is sick. Harden is the only elite 2 guard playing today, and he wouldn’t even be a top 5 perimeter player in the 2000s. But he’s far more effective than any other shooting guard playing today.

If we’re talking elite like a 2 guard that can take you to the promised land (a title) as a #1 or strong #2 option then I say Wade from like 5 years ago is the last of the Mohicans. But I guess Klay Thompson fits that description too

I know he doesn’t have handles like other guards or break nikkas off the dribble with ease, but he gets his shot off on anybody. And when he’s hot he is unstoppable, also clutch. Also one of the best 2 way players in the league

Booker, Beal, and Butler (BBB :ohhh:) all have the potential to ascend to elite levels

I get the Harden nods but I just hate watching the dude play. His game is aggravating
I highly doubt Butler is ascending any higher, it's year 7 or 8 and he's 28. He is who he is.

klay never lead a team to anything.

not elite.
He was a legit #2 on a championship team though.

Derozan
Butler
Beal
Klay
Devin Booker
Harden
Tim Hardaway Jr
CJ McCollum
D'Angelo Russell
Victor Olidipo
Khris Middleton
Eric Gordon
Nicolas Batum
Garry Harris

The 2 guard position is coming back :ehh:

Gordon, Middleton, Batum, and THJ are roleplayers
And you didn't even mention Donovan Mitchell or Avery Bradley :what:
The SG position is still weak af compared to PG and PF/C

Top 10 PGs (arguable):
Curry
Westbrook
Lillard
Irving
Paul
Wall
IT
Lowry
Conley
Simmons

That's already deeper than your list, and the fringe top 10 PGs go even deeper: Walker, Dragic, Bledsoe, Schroder, Holiday, Smart

Plus new blood in Fultz, D'Lo, Lonzo, Fox, Murray, DSJ, Dunn, Brogdon, Ntilikina

And just to rattle off some PF/Cs:
AD
Boogie
Embiid
KP
Towns
Love
Draymond
Aldridge
Marc Gasol
Drummond
Jokic
Capela
Turner
Gobert
Vucevic
Adams
Whiteside
Adebayo
Sabonis

Tier 1
Harden
Butler
Derozan

Tier 2
Klay (I don’t consider hin tier 1, never carried a team, option 3 possibly even 4 depending on who you ask)
Beal
Olidapo (number 1 option on his team plus they are currently a playoff team)

Tier 3
Booker (on the cusp on elite but young and one of the worst records
Mcollum

:mjlol: Klay is averaging 26 if he had his own team. The man dropped 37 in a quarter and can go off for 30 or 40 on any given night. He plays excellent defense, creates his own shot, and has a history of bailing out GSW in tough games. He's not tier 1 only because he's the 3rd option on his team, but on 98% of teams in the league he'd be 2nd option at worst (GSW and the Pelicans are the only teams where he'd be 3rd string).

shyt if he was on the Cavs he'd be 2nd and IT 3rd

I hate the “go off for 40 any night” debate for any player. If he could go off for 40, klay or any other player would. He doesn’t have to carry the load offensively like the other number 1 option players do, so he’s able to play all out defensively.

Yes he’ll be able be able to average 28 a game on a team like the hawks, but he ain’t carrying them to the playoffs, let alone a top seed like harden, derozan and butler are currentlu doing. And best believe he’ll take a step back on defense as well if he became a number 1

You say "Coming Back" like the 2 hasn't always been historically the least talented position in basketball:skip:. There's never been more than 5 great Shooting Guards at any given time.

:what: He already drops or flirts with 30 many nights on a team with fukking KD and Steph. He just had a 60 point game last season, you think he won't give you 40 every now and then if he took 25 shots a game? Do you not watch Warrior games and understand how fukking hot Klay gets? Harden is not carrying the Hawks to the playoffs either fool

Also how is Harden, DeRozan, and Butler carrying their teams when they have great #2/#3 options and deep benches and roleplayers :mjlol:

It's one thing to say Klay isn't on an MVP-level tier with Harden, Butler, DeRozan, but to say he's a 3rd/4th option is :mjlol:

And why are you just assuming Klay would have a dropoff on D when Butler who you call tier 1 still plays great D as the #1 option?
