Same problem the original steam machine had, although people weren’t as entrenched in steam storefront back then like they are now
He has his hands in other ventures, on top of being in bed with conventional PC parts brands, so of course he's gonna give it some negative PR.
They need to scrap this console and move onto steam deck 2. There is more use for a steam portable than a standalone bullshyt pc trying to be a console.

I don't see God of War or Horizon on Xbox but I do see Forza, Gears, and Halo on PlayStation. Xbox is Sega status only thing missing at this point is Master Chief vs Mario at the Olympic games

Valve has provided the strongest indication yet that the Steam Machine price will be set with similar performance PCs in mind, and confirmed it has no plans to subsidize the hardware like console manufacturers do by eating a big loss on each unit sold.
So much for the goofys saying that this was going to invade the console market and eat up a share. I ask again who is this device for? It's weaker that current gen except for the Series S except it will be more expensive. But all of the components are soldered on so you also can't just upgrade parts like a traditional PC either. They fumbled with that outdated GPU and 8 GBs of VRAM. It won't be able to play games coming out in the future without some serious compromises
Ok but what do you expect especially if this is a gaming pc that they are trying to price under 1000 dollars. How much of vram do you expect? Especially if it’s a small form factor pc. GPU’s with more vram would have high temps for the size of this pc. The cooling would be horrible.
That it's a terrible machine to release in 2026 that's essentially the same specs if not weaker than current gen. If they released it in 2024. I would understand and it would make sense. The next gen of consoles should be releasing a year later which will blow it out of the water. People that are primarily steam players either have a rig that's already more powerful than this. If they don't why would they buy this when you can't even upgrade the internals? So this machine was made to lure console players to Steam. But why buy it if your games are going to look the same if not worse on some games because it's unoptimized for PC. People are not jumping ship so easily these days. With digital games and backwards compatibility it's even harder since people are locked into their library of backlog games. That's what I meant by who are they trying to attract with this machine?
