Let me clarify...But so many of the rappers from Cali, Chicago, Philly who are buzzing are deciding to stay unsigned instead of taking those garbage 360 deals.

that's what you think :bryan:they are faking the funk man

who in Chicago right now who is buzzing is unsigned? I fukk with Lil Herb and Lil Bibby and they front like they aren't signed.. them dudes are signed. they having Def Jam fly them out to work with No I.D and shyt lol

@Rominati Nah bro whites all over Bed-stuy, Flatbush, even Brownsville now

Word, I completely forgot about whats going on in Brooklyn when I made that post. I never b out there so I couldnt even call it like that anyways.

Whenever im out and about in Harlem I see like 1 or 2 white folks at tha MAX. And that is usually around like 6pm, and they usually on more famous strips like 25th or 45th. So I imagine they are coming from work or whatever. I never see white people leisurely cooling on these blocks. Not in the Bronx either.

NY aint nothing sweet. shyt even Rocky himself had a wild life. His brother got shot, he was homeless etc. Rocky probably had it rougher than the same people in this thread criticizing him.

The problem with NY aint the streets. Its the rappers. These new young hood nikkas gotta find a way to connect with the people OUTSIDE the hood. Reason why Rocky blew is not because he is some super skilled lyrcist. Its because he has APPEAL. Something that alot of these new NY nikkas simlpy DO NOT have.

We are now in a era where fans wanna feel like they can RELATE to the artist. Thus we have these weirdo nikkas like Chance, Tyler, etc. Cuz they are relatable to a wide spectrum of individuals. Most of these street NY cats are mentally stuck in their hood. No way are labels gonna sign em its a waste of money.

You need to be a artist that White girls from the suburbs (such as yaself lol) will go crazy for. Thats why Drake, J.cole, Kendrick n em be winning.

Its funny cuz I personally know a few NY rap nikkas who can hit global status cuz they can appeal to both the hood and the burbs. But like someone in this thread already said. They simply lack the hunger and the effort to go all the way thru with it.

Those artists grind their asses off with touring and they make quality songs that reflect what is happening NOW. The demographics of the "street nikka" is shrinking, both numerically and percentage wise.

I guarantee you the fans will look very different compared to 10 years ago.

Imagine the make-up of the fans now and all the lame jokes & trolling that happens.

Pitchfork trolled Chief Keef at a shooting ranging and he was underage & on probation.

They want the light hearted stuff, because this is entertainment to them.

They would shiit on Lupe, but talk about how the new Waka mixtape is a masterpiece. Notice the numbers of "streek nikkas" are dwindling on the south sides as well, because they got Future, Trinidad James, and Rich Homie Quan.

These folks only want catchy beats, catch hooks, and slick superficial raps.

I hear a lot of talk of image, which I don't disagree with, but these rappers need hit songs to get on. I hear decent rappers with decent bars but rapping over shytty beats

That is why the likes of another Jay-Z will never happen again. The "weirdos" and "nerds" are the norm in many areas in America.

Well it was a nice run, from '86 to '07. that's 20 years...I can't complain.

Everything got the life sucked out of it, biggest artists are Lady Gaga, Drake, Adele, Taylor Swift. All genres has been affected.
