:ld: I never really thought about it in terms of pre/post recession, while I don't think that's the only thing that made music "softer" that's a good point

Look at how 2008 was pretty much the end of aggressive down south beat em up in the club music & street music... that's right when less intimidating & softer artists started emerging like Asher Roth, Kid Cudi, Drake, Charles Hamilton, etc because that's what society in general was feeling like after the 2008 housing bubble burst that left hundreds unemployed, broke or homeless...

I thinks Gibbs steady in this gangsta rap lane. Ar-Ab or whatever his names was cool but he doing Time. 3 Hunna is the only movement moving I think. Maybe TDE can get going.

I feel like that's the main problem right now. The streets don't have that leader to speak to them, Nas is the closest one, but most young niccas in the street don't really connect with him since he's a older head. Jay and Kanye on their different shyt. Wayne on his weird shyt Drake singing to the hoes and talking about stealing his uncles car. Ti slipped out his spot. Nobody believes Ross. Jeezy fell off. nikkas think J coles a cornball. You get the point. The only rappers who the streets have are other dumb motherfukkas like chief keef who rap about doing the same dumb shyt they're trying to escape. The streets don't have anyone to talk to them like a Scarface, Dmx, Big, Pac, Old Jay, Old Nas. Rap is incomplete without that. And life is incomplete without that to be honest. That's why motherfukkas are so confused right now. Rap without someone in that spot is like a country with no president. Someone needs to step to the plate or its only going to get uglier. Rap is really in a great space right now. I don't think there's ever been this many lanes poppin all at once. We're just missing that one element to tie it all together

I think he just borrowed it breh :to: funny I was watching MTV Jams and they played DMX who we be and I was like who repping for the average cat...everyone now is a swagged out threesome having homotional wreck and I cant relate..... :damn:

Guess im :flabbynsick: huh

Beans was the last one to combine elite skills with content and credibility...

Ross is dope but hes more like Biggie where its cinematic mafioso fantasy rap...

Beans was the streets...Unfortunatly the downside to that is death or where hes sittin now....

I agree to an extent but that's only if you want someone on the mainstream level. I think Gibbs is the hardest spittin nikka nowadays but this weird ass TMZ generation won't give him the time of day for some reason. Ctas say they wont hard music but when its delivered people ignore it b/c he said some shyt in a interview they aint like or some other ho ass shyt. You can't tell me this shyt aint hard as fukk.
