Or maybe college cost is increasing while income inequality also increases and having a college degree doesn't really guarantee you a good job after paying or owing a lot of money after the fact.

I hear you but the vast majority of people opting out of higher education are not doing it for the reasons you highlighted

We live in an era now where large swaths of the population view podcasters, youtubers, random google searches from obscure websites as a more reliable source than the experts

But the issues He highlighted was present in 2010 as well when the economy was in an even worse shape as it hadn't receovered
from the great 2007 collapse yet and student loans were insanely high then too. There's something else going on that explains the 53 percent drop from 2010 to now

Colleges are showing a lower value (to cost) for non-Stem white collar pursuits. The investment isnt often worth the expense and some of those white collar jobs are actively being attacked by AI tools.

Vocational Schools are a better investment for many people than a 4 year. AI cant rewire a house and replace the plumbing. Its its a lower cost time and money investment for a better return.

I think if people thought a college education was attainable financially they would go in higher numbers.

But Social Media has so many people thinking tik tok, youtube, etc etc is a quick cash grab and everything is good

Majority of these people have 3,000 views or so and in they mind they eating

And the funny thing is, they aren't

Only those generating 100k plus views per video are really making a living off content creation

There's a reason why the vast majority of "passport bros" rely heavily on fund raising from their fans to literally survive

The Truth
People just don’t value education period.

Like mentioned earlier, a lot of these new nikkas want to be “influencers”, “content creators”, or videogamers/models.

Or (basically) scammers.

Not to mention, they not learning shyt in High School.. even worse than when I was a high schooler.

I didn’t care for high school.. I tested out and went to a trade school then military FOR college, and still in college somewhat (second degree in shyt I mostly know a lot about anyway from hands on with trades).

Idk anyone who did it that way. If people want to go to trade schools I support it, but still need people that value real, useful degrees
